Don't go too crazy on the calories. A couple friends did a diet where they only consumed 500 cals. It was some kind of hormone injection thing. They lost lots of weight but didn't look or feel so good. After the diet they both put on a bunch of weight because they went back to their old eating habits. I wish you good luck and good health.

The intellectual me knows this but as soon as I put anything in my mouth that converts into a sugar ... I go nuts and binge. I have to change my portion size... I think. I have always been around 150 - 157 but I had two bum knees. I had both replaced. When I lost my mobility before the surgery I pounded on the weight. I almost hit 190. My hope is that I just need to get down to what I was, and I will be able to maintain it. One of the things I know is 'Life is a Lab' and the test will be if I can maintain after I get these last pounds off. It was really disappointing to gain over the holidays but that is part of my normal pattern too. The holiday food is so so different from my normal diet. Fat Secrets is the most amazing support, tracking and self awareness tool I have ever had. It is people like you that makes me consider what I am doing and give it some critical thought. There is an accountability imbedded in this site. I write this and if it does not work I need to take a different direction and look at the hard truths. I am curious about the reaction I have to carbs and am looking into it as I do this Very Low Carb High Protein restricted diet. Thank you for supporting me PoulC ... I need it.

How's it going? Thanks for the buddy request! I just gave up on a lo-carb, hi-fat diet plan as I gained weight! HOnestly! what a pain, I think all our bodies are just different and need different fine tuning! I'm back to calorie counting but have reset my daily calories to 1200 (FatSecret thinks I need 1400) so we'll see how that goes, I know I can do this, can't let my lost stone creep back on!
