Melodyann's Journal, 06 November 2016

I had 2 bagels and a lot of butter yesterday, so I know that's why I have the weight gain. but having the carbs, I feel so so so much better. I'm gluten free and getting unhealthy-er. I'm always tired. very very tired. I even went for a sleep study. Then it dawned on me that I don't get any carbs. So I ate 2 bagels, and I feel pretty good today. So I'll take the weight gain as a learning lesson and research how to get carbs. I hope you all are having a great day!

Google "Flexible dieting" and "IIFYM" and realize carbohydrates aren't the devil, and 80% of people who claim to be nutritional wizards because of Mens Magazine and Jenny Craig have no idea what they are talking about.

For the most part, I don't eat carbs intentionally. Was just going on abotu this in my journal. Anyway, there are tons of natural foods out there for carbs. Even though I don't eat bread, pasta, etc vast majority of the time, my data shows that I still get plenty of carbs from food. If you're tracking, check out that little pie chart that shows how many you're getting even without having bagels...

Melodyann, There are many carbs that are packed with nutrition - go for sweet potatoes, vegetables and fruits. White flour (in bagels) and sugar are anti-nutrition. Select the carbs that will offer you a lot of phyto nutrients; skip the sugar and white flour. Your body will thank you!

You don't need to eat carbs. Check out a LCHF diet instead. Lose weight and also get rid of the 'hangry' feeling. Your liver will give up waiting for sugar if you go a few days without carbs/sugar and start making the glucose your body needs. Meanwhile you get your energy from fat.

Yes, most of us LCHF - and Melodyann does what best works for her. I lost most of my weight LCHF but am now muscle building and needing more carbs, too.
