I've really got to get back in the gym, but I keep finding excuses to avoid it. Bad Melody!! This weekend was my niece's birthday party and there was chocolate cake!! YIKES!! I stupidly ate some. Bad Melody!! Thankfully, everything else I ate this week was right on. I was more cautious about my eating. So, the cake doesn't bug me nearly as much as it would otherwise, I'm more disappointed that I wasted calories on the cake instead of something I would have liked much better.

I'm so happy to be back in school. Although it's a lot of work, it's well worth it. YAY!! It's getting me out of the house, it's keeping me focused on something besides my walls and I'm learning things I LOVE to learn. YAY!! All in all, I'm happy this week. I need to be exercising, but I'm still very happy!!

7 Things I'm Unequivocally Grateful for:

1. City Lights - From where I'm sitting right now, I have this beautiful view of the city and it's all lit up tonight. Absolutely stunning.

2. Furnace - Yesterday, while studying (yay for school) I got really chilly. My fingers would barely move. A little adjustment on the panel and voila, heat anew flows into my home. HVAC is such a blessing.

3. Dreams - And I don't mean the kind when we sleep, because I never remember those. I'm talking about our dreams of what we can and will do in our lives. Goals, hopes, and dreams for so much. I'm a laid-off, 31 yr old single mother who is using her savings to go back to school. Financially, everything seems to be against me. I'm no longer exactly college material. My son is pitching fits about all the work I have to do. Yet, through it all, I'm holding on these great dreams and I can see them being fulfilled. The fact that I'm taking any classes at all is a dream fulfilled. I have hope and I see hope all around me. God gave me big dreams and He is helping bring them about. YES!

4. Water - Oh my, yes how I love drinking water. Friday I didn't have my big Bubba Keg with me full of ice water and it was so wrong. I don't drink anything else, water is so satisfying.

5. Books - I'm a reader, which makes sense since I'm studying Literature, Writing and History in school. I LOVE to read. For my classes I've been assigned a lot of reading and I'm not complaining. More reading the better in my book. Books - stories - history - lessons - the written word - can be so educational, so fulfilling, and so inspirational. To all the writes and readers in the world, I tip my hat to you.

6. School - I hadn't realized how much I missed classes and school work until this week. Thrown back in to work is very exciting for me. I really do love to learn.

7. God - Who has been pulling me out of my mucky depression and helping me enjoy life again. Thank You!!

Have a great week everyone.

Trust in God steadily, hope unswervingly, and love extravagantly.
