stevieweevie's Journal, 12 July 2016

Yesterday was my first day of intermittent fasting, and was fairly easy to do at 16:8. I will be doing this at least a few times a week, and will work toward daily. I will have a more difficult time with eating once a day as I was banded a few years ago and cannot eat all of my 1800 calories in one meal. I essentially was doing intermittent fasting sans the bullet proof coffee in the morning. I just took that out and viola!
I have been doing much research on fasting and believe it will lead me to great cellular detox in my body, resetting my gut health, and lowering my inflammation, and of course weight loss as that extra (good) side effect. I will work toward block fasting, but for now, will stay with intermittent just to see how my body reacts to it.

Awesome plan! I do this too and I'm down 40+. After an adjustment period (started on 5:2 and gravitated to add 16:8), it feels normal. Sure I get hungry at predictable times during my week, but I'm ready for it before it happens. Good luck.

Thanks for the virtual pat on the back =] There's so much stigma with fasting, its nice to have the support.

As your body gets used to going longer between meals, you'll find it gets easier, too. Even if my plan is to do 18:6, I frequently end up doing more like 20:4. Water is key, but only drink to thirst to avoid flushing electrolytes. Nice drop!

Yeah. I don't understand that. I tell people about IF and they look back at me sometimes with horror on their face. My son's mom who is morbidly obese and does a crazy amount of cardio is someone with that reaction. She's easily 150 lbs overweight and can't lose a pound doing what she's doing. I think if she heard about it from anyone other than me, she'd be more receptive.

I'm sorry that she's not "getting it" The LCHF diet alone helped me immensely and I am currently not going crazy with exercise, because I've done that in the past. I've struggled my entire life with being put on lowfat diets and exercising until I collapse to no avail! I now have severe joint pain, knee pain, and ankle pain with so much inflammation and constant pain from my many attempts to lose throughout my life. So, for now, I am letting my WOE take care of the major stuff, so that in a few months, I can start focusing on the exercise.

KTMM, she feeds her workout which drives her hunger which feeds her workout . . . She wouldn't come to FS because, you know, I mentioned it already. So there's that. It's not funny but LOL.

Sorry to hihack your post Stevie but last one. KTMM, she likes me too much. She just hates it when I'm right, which, unfortunately for her is a lot. Thank you, good night Chicago! Tip your wait staff and drive safe!

LOL!!! Well, luckily I have a level-headed husband who will listen to reason. He is also eating LCHF, however, he had a whopping 15 lbs to lose. He is a sloth and gained a bit of weight over the last several years, but he has looked at the information and agrees this makes the most sense. He is not doing IF, however he supports me and has for the last 23 years.

YAY STEVIE!!!!!! Lack of support is one reason I have gone the way of the monk. ONE reason. You are doing superbly. Keep up the great work.

I don't get these dimwits that get banned and think they can just create another account and pick back up where they got cut off.

I feel ya Knuckles!! My 42 yr old daughter just did the same to me, saying I act like a child, when I don't lend her money or do what she wants, lol!! I just say, if I'm so bad to live with, why are you still here, Bye!!
