Not a big a drop as I would've liked, but that happens. Today is a fasting day so I'm hoping for a bigger drop tomorrow morning. :)

I've done three rounds of HCG and the more I'm looking into fasting the more I'm convinced that HCG has a placebo effect. HCG claims to do all the things fasting claims to do. Fasting is cheaper. I've considered doing alternate day fasting rather then another HCG round, or just 7 days straight of fasting (500 kcal/day) just to see how it goes and if it is similar to the HCG.

Do you fast for spiritual purpose or is it part of your fitness goals?

I think you might have something there Kpp...the easy way to tell would be to do the fasting without HCG, then HCG without fasting and compare the two. My bet is that HCG without fasting would be ineffective. As you've noted, fasting is more cost effective too....good luck whichever way you go!!

I fast for my health goals, but I'm considering fasting on religious holidays as well.

Religious may be the wrong word, spiritual is a better way to describe it. If/When I fast for spiritual holidays I will also incorporate 'no-kill' into my 500 kcal fast. 'No-kill' includes potatoes, onions and such as well as chicken and pork. It is a way of reminding ourselves of the sacrifices that are made so we may live. I know it's probably way out there for some people, but it's a belief that I embrace.

A small drop is still not a gain...:). Way to go!

I concur. hcG does not accelerate fat loss. The hcG DIET, however, is very effective, as are all VLCDs. I have had success cutting with and without hcG, and have run my numbers. My fat losses correlate directly to KCALs. Period. In men, hcG does have the benefit of boosting testosterone, which can help offset the testosterone down regulation caused by dieting.

Nice work, btw. #turningpro

Thank you Jimmiepop. When on HCG I've found that my weight distribution changed. I lost my double hip and I've never (even at ideal weight) have been able to do that. The HCG must have a different effect on hormone regulation than plain fasting. I'm debating whether to do HCG again or not.

Still a win.

@KPP Heard. I think it may impact women differently. Many women claim as do you that it affects their fat distribution. I don't see anything negative in it, except pinning every day, and the test boost for men is a positive on diet.

Can you explain the "no-kill" regarding the potatoes, onions and such? I get the animals, but don't understand the vegetables in relationship to spiritual fasting. Please explain.

All root vegetables are alive. I can plant a garlic clove and it will grow into another garlic bulb. It is the concept that everything that is alive has a spirit. Foods like carrots, beets, potatoes are living before we cook and consume them. When I eat no-kill I focus on food that is harvested without killing an animal or a plant.

I must tell you something about HCG... I did it, as I told you... but, as I worked in Emergency... I had a blood test done on myself to test for levels of HCG in my blood.... I did this with the blessing of our resident gynaecologist, who was also doing it, but thought it would look odd if a male requested a HCG test ( about as odd as a 55 year old woman, i guess!! ) for the record... there was NO HCH in my blood... and I had been doing it for 4 weeks at that point. so, placebo... I think this is EXACTLY what it is!

Thank you Lady Madonna. Not sure if it's worth doing again.
