makparis's Journal, 11 January 2010

It's been an interesting week. I was crazy busy with a big design project so I didn't get out to exercise, but that is now over and it's time to add the exercise back in. Eating hasn't been too bad this week, but I do need to get all my veggies cut up so salad's are easy to put together.

I'm excited about the weeks ahead. I'm starting back at school next week, YAY! Since the layoff last year, I've felt unfocused and lost and I'm so happy that God has given me this opportunity to go back to school and finish my BA. I've got several design projects ahead of me that will bring in some extra cash. Additionally, I'm just feeling really positive lately. I get frustrated as all do, but that last couple of weeks, I've been blessed with a great sense of peace and hope. It's a great feeling and I'm praying you'll all feel it too.

7 Things I'm Thankful for:

1. My FatSecret Buddies - You have all been so supportive and helpful. It's so refreshing to meet such wonderful, caring and compassionate people. You all restore my faith in humanity.

2. Candles - Because they bring such beautiful light to a room and make it smell so yummy.

3. Puffs Plus - They are so soft on the nose when my nose turns into a faucet.

4. Water - It's good for me and makes me feel good.

5. Photographs - They hold so many memories and stories.

6. Good TV Dramas/Comedies - I really, really don't like reality TV so I appreciate it when networks get behind good serial programs like Chuck (which is back as of yesterday, YAY!) that are fantastic escapist entertainment.

7. Bible Study Devotionals - They are always uplifting, always informative, and help me understand so many truths in the Bible.

Yeah I'm in the same boat as far as getting laid off this time last year and I have used so much of this free time to become healthier and go back to school too. I have to remind myself about those good things I've done so those feelings of unfocused and lost can stay away cause they can play tricks with your confidence.
