Love the LCHF.....don't feel hungry anymore. We are doing the 16:8 eating and intermittent fasting on the weekends. Just trying to see why the weight loss is not the same as what the studies show. But I am not complaining the weight is still coming off. Wish I could have successfully put the cigarettes behind me but I think it is a little overwhelming at the same time as my weight journey. I WILL NEVER QUIT QUITTING

Sheri1971, I had success in cutting down on the cigarettes but couldn't quite cut out the last ones. Then they found I had Afib and put me on a monitor. One evening, after my husband had surgery for a broken hip, I came home and sat down with a glass of wine and a cigarette. The monitor alarm went off "loud and long!" I put out the cigarette and didn't light another one since -- been 2-1/2 years now. Now a normal method, but you might ask your doctor!! LOL I do agree losing the weight and the habit at the same time may not be a reasonable objective, but if you can work on cutting down, every little bit helps. Good luck!!

TODAY 1 year ago, I quit smoking. It was the single best thing I ever did for myself. And the hardest. Quitting smoking showed me that I had the willpower to do anything. It got me into keto and have not deviated even once. No cheats. IF you have the will to quit smoking, you can do anything. And I know YOU can quit if I did.

Congratulations to those who have managed to quit. And to those still trying, keep at it. Try all the tricks and tips to keep you interested -- most may not work, but they help you reduce the amount you smoke, and every little bit helps. One thing I did was the "writing down what you are doing when you light up." By the time you find your memo pad, you may find the craving has lessened. Well, it works sometimes!
