Panigale1199's Journal, 15 February 2016

Long weekend snowboarding, boozing, food with friends and their family. Tons of water weight I am sure. But I have never thought I would hit this weight in my life. A bit sad but I am not letting it get to me. I didnt want to weigh in but it is a great reminder of the changes I urgently need to make.

Today is the Day 1 of my first Whole30. Wish me luck

Best

You know what to do. Like me in the past, I chose to ignore a slight gain. Biggest mistake I ever made.

Yup - extra alcohol, carbs and salt = water retention. You can kick it!

Thanks guys. I really need a reality check It is the heaviest I have seen myself in my whole life.. I don't want to keep ignoring it. I am hoping this whole30 can bring my body and mind to a good state and relationship with food again. I dont want to be thinking of food all the time. I dont want to stress over it anymore. So I am working to make sure I dont let myself go anymore. We all can succeed if we really want it.

Ashley, good news is that you've recognized and then determined to deal with the gain before it got out of hand. Speaking from a little older perspective and other posters here may agree; there are often times when weight just seems to pile on - or not come off in spite of good diet and exercise, perseverance will pay off in the end as long as you don't get discouraged and give up. None of us are perfect, what we do after a bad food binge or weight gain is what counts! Good luck, we're all with you here!!

Thanks Steven. That is so true! And I have to realize results will be slow. I can't expect to see it all gone in just a few weeks. This might take months. People who truly succeed in fitness have patience, dedication and motivation. I have to teach myself the patience part and to not give up. Usually if I expect results quicker and don't see them, I get so discouraged and binge or cheat. I need to accept that this journey will take a while. It will also pay off if I just be patient and work hard!
