Whoo hoo!! finally got below that dreaded 180 and by a whole pound! Even checked it twice since my scale likes to tease me! But my blood sugar has gone up slightly. Was 126 last night after not eating since 1, and this morning was 133! On a positive note, my blood sugar from my kidney doctor visit was only 97 that day!

Last day of revival. Its been so refreshing! God is great and greatly to be praised!

Hearty congratulations on getting below 180! Is the blood sugar high enough to worry about? We have a challenge going for diabetics, and I'm trying to learn about diabetes.

Great work on the weight loss! Typically blood glucose is higher in the morning due to the release of cortisol during the waking process. Cortisol triggers gluconeogenesis and thus the rise in morning glucose readings.

Thank you all! and dmarie you will get there soon! I didn't know about the cortisol. I've been so confused on why my blood sugars were higher after fasting all night. I was just reading a bit on cortisol, and see its related to adrenal glands on the kidneys. I wonder if my off kidney blood tests are affecting that also. It can also have bad effects on weight. Hmmm. Something good to look into, thank you!

Oh, and no my blood sugars are not high enough to worry about now, but when I had my surgeries last year and the hooked me up to TPN my sugars went extremely high and they were worried I had diabetes. Earlier this year my A1C was elevated and the doctor stared treating me for diabetes. I check my blood but never took the meds she prescribed. The diet has lowered them incredibly. Eating any sugar though really increases it, so my body is not handling sugar correctly.
