Redporchlady's Journal, 03 May 2024

I talked to the trainer on my progress and he said since I am really lean that it will take time and I won't see it go down very fast. However with that said I still am trying for my goal to get my waist at least below 30" and he said that means I still need to be in a calorie deficit so I trudge on with my WOE.

Rpl you’ve probably seen me write about my frustration with getting my old tiny waist back. I dont know what happened. Does your trainer say why it is being so stubborn about going down? Is he incorporating different ab exercises? Curious for myself😂

lol. Just looked at your weight. We are a pound apart and same height! But you have those pretty pretty legs and arms. Funny how life distributes weight around for same numbers.

We are in same situation. I finally got almost to 29" waist but we shall see if I can keep it there. I will say when I started eating less processed and lots of raw vegetables, I noticed the difference, especially in my waist. My nutritionist always says how women our age hang on to sugars and carbs in our belly's. Your tone is much better than mine. I have muscle but not great tone. Do you do much cardio or is it genetic? I think you look fantastic and fit!

I've never really had a belly. This time around, it seems to be the least to let go of the inches. I'm in deficit just to get that belly down. You've done so well learning to lift weights and get strong!

I had a 29" waist for a hot minute, but it's back at 30" & staying. I don't want to eat in a deficit unless it's because I'm burning more calories from being active. So... I may just have to live with it. My belly, after years of yoyoing, just isn't as elastic as in my youth. I'm pretty sure the only way to get a flat tummy is surgery & that isn't happening.

@YOH- He says you cannot target where the fat comes off. I think for me it is hereditary. I am doing four point planks with a 45# weight on my back. A minute never felt so long in my life! LOL We also do side planks and lots of core work. Probably need to eliminate Prosecco on the weekends but I don't drink much. Your waist is below 29" right? What was it when you were young? I don't recall what mine was becasue I was super thin.

@YOH and we are the same height so it is funny where the fat goes! LOL

@Diana- you have worked so hard to get there! I would hope if I can get down to 129-130 that my waist will shrink to where I want it. Fingers crossed. I am like you and don't eat much processed foods.

@Diana- sorry did not answer your question. No I don't do much cardio except if kettlebells can be considered cardio or pulling a sled with 35#'s on it!

@Jen- I did not get a belly until I had a hysterectomy at 45 and then I think the hormones just screwed everything up and that is where the fat would go. Losing over 50# did help but just can't get the rest off.

@sherry-I know I may give up too. FS told me it will take me 68 months to get there the way I am going! LOL

RPL it is 27” right now was 24 until i was 50. Old measurements were at 145 pounds and lifting weights 5x a week running a few days a week. Now i do strength training not so much weights tho a little with the kettlebell. Back then my measurements. Were 34-24-38. Now 34-27-34.5m. Weight wavering between 133-138. See what i mean? I weigh less and inches are distributed differently. I never had such small hips. Tho i did have the tummy tuck so maybe thats what happened
