DRL5's Journal, 22 June 2015

I wish I could stop treating exercise like it's my enemy. It really should be my friend. It can help me reach my goal. It can make me feel better when I'm stressed. It can energize me when I'm feeling sluggish. I'm not stupid. I know all these things. I just really really really REALLY have a hard time pushing myself to MOVE IT!!!! Joining the exercise challenges can help me at least keep it in the forefront of my mind. There, I can choose to ignore it, or choose to act upon it. Either way, I realize it's my choice. And I have only myself to answer to! So I guess I'd better crack the whip and get my butt moving!

Hi DRL5, your weightloss is going so well. If only I could say the same for myself. The exercise can be difficult to fit into a busy day I know but not impossible. You will feel all of those things you say in your post when you get going...and I'm positive you will. For me, the exercise is the easy part but I don't seem to have the food intake sorted at all!!

After I exercise, I feel so good. It's the getting the motivation to do it. I go on Pinterest.com and type in "fitness motivation or inspiration". They have pics, recipes, quotes, etc. It always gets me moving. I've also started a fitness notebook. I put pictures, recipes, quotes, keep track of my pounds lost, etc. I saw it on Pinterest.

The hardest part is usually just getting going and doing it. Then it feels great afterwards and you have that sense of accomplishment plus the physical feelings and benefits. If you can be consistent and make it a habit it'll be much easier to keep it up. Crack that whip!

I am right there with you. I've heard it takes 21 days to make something a habit (or break a habit!), so I've been told to stick to it for 3 weeks. Yeah...I think I've made it a week and a half lol. But you know what? We can do it!

Same for me here DRL...I've been sluggish and need the motivation. Sometimes I do what Suzi said, go on Pinterest & get inspired! Let's push ourselves. I'm thinking of listening to my mp3 player before getting into a workout to make me feel energized to do it.
