I am having problems getting below 150 Lbs. I am beginning to think that it is my medication that I am taking which can cause weight gain?. (If I eat more than 1000 Cal. I do gain weight!)

I watched the T.L.C. "My 600 Lbs Life." and the Doctor on this show puts his patients basically on my diet, and they lose weight. There was one comment from another Doctor spoken on this show, and he said that anything less than 1000 Cal. diet is starvation!
Question? How do you guys not starve on the Bariatric Post Op. surgery lose weight and not starve? Don't they put you all on <1000 Cal diet?

Good News- I went to an Ice Cream Social, last night, and I didn't eat any of the ice cream at all! Boy did it look good! :)

You all have a great day!:)

My neice had the Bariatric surgery done three years ago, and she lost all the weight. But she was and is miserable. I don't know all the details on how horrible, but she mentioned throwing up all the time, indigestion, always starving, but can't eat anything but very small amounts of only certain things. She wanted to get the process reversed, but the doctors say it can't be done. ... ... I'm impressed that you didn't have ANY ice cream! :)

Awesome job avoiding the ice cream. I think my calories appear lower than they really are - I bet I eat 1200-1300 per day.

Making good choices makes me feel better, than indulging and feeling guilty.

Hello Y'all...lol...actually on the post-bariatric diet, at between 6-8 weeks I was instructed to aim for at least 1,000 calories with Main focus from day two post op forward to be sure to attain protein goals...and I am thinking when I go back for 6 month check up...surgeon will prob. move my daily allowance to the 1,200-1,350 range...but NOT positive of that...AS I have said before, surgery is a tool...it is better in a lot of ways, to lose WITHOUT surgery, but for some of us, Surgery is a FINAL option when used according to Dr.s directions can be "life-saving"...

I agree, I am not sure that I would have made it through the "ice cream" part of the social....I have learned that the only way I can say no to ice cream is not to put myself in temptation's way! Good for you!
