HOT YOGA? YOGA? Doc is suggesting yoga as one method to add 20 min of sweat inducing workout for 20 min minimum where it is hard to breathe to help remove toxins and some other benefits having to do with blocked artery situation. Anyone have any input on this? I have never tried yoga. Keeping in mind the new hip which i can do pretty much anything with except run.

I personally would never do yoga for religious reasons. Outside that, stretching and saunas are known health benefits for the body.

Wow I’m curious at to why you wouldn’t do yoga for religious reasons? Never heard of that before. Me personally I have been doing yoga on and off for 20 years and this is the first time I joined a studio. I do hot yoga every Saturday morning 95 degree room and power yoga every Sunday morning 85 degree room. It’s not for everyone but it takes some getting use to. The hot room helps your muscles and you are able to get into poses deeper. There are alternative stretches if you aren’t as flexible and never push your body more than it can do or when it starts to be painful. I can’t sing enough of its benefits enough, I feel so good afterwards and have been feeling so much better mobility wise ever since I joined a few months ago. Even lost a few lbs in the process. Maybe see if a studio would let you take a class for free just to try it out.

I think yoga is very beneficial. It has a lot of benefits actually.

I did HOT Yoga one time and passed out on my a$$. I didn't know you shouldn't do it if you have low blood pressure. This was way before my heart issues. I really can't do it now as I can't go in a sauna or Jacuzzi either..I would imagine it's the same. A lot of my friends do either hot yoga or hot Pilates and love it. It's supposed to sweat all those toxins out of you but be careful cuz I know you have issues with passing out....

I don’t know, but I’m curious about what hot yoga is in the first place. Sternfan, Fahrenheit or Celsius?* *I think I might have heard that some people, who are used to extreme-temperature European-style saunas, firefighting, etc. are able to handle a few minutes in those temperatures *Celsius* in some situations, but don’t try that at home. I wouldn’t!!!!! It is amazing what we are capable of though…

Sternfan how long do you do hot yoga for? There are two options here. 15 min HIIT or 30 min class but not hiit. Which do you do? Im thinking the bike one for 15 min HIIT

Laineandthedog98-google it. It’s yoga with high high temps to cause one to sweat out toxins etc

Storms-hubs would love if i would go upstairs and do a HIIT workout with kettlebells with him. I always refuse. He comes down looking like he just got out of the pool (not our pool we dont have one😂)

All of the yoga classes I take at the studio are an hour long.

You've seen Rhonda Patrick's videos on sauna, I imagine? I'm taking a few weeks off following a dental procedure. (Grew up in a yoga=worshipping false g-ds family; didn't expect that blast from the past today!)

Sternfan an HOUR of hot yoga? You are a strong guy
05 Apr 24 by member: Yearofhealth2023
Craigysgafn-nooooo never heard of her. How is yoga worshiping false gods? Why am i so ignorant of religious undertones where yoga is concerned?
05 Apr 24 by member: Yearofhealth2023
Not me! I can't even stand the sauna for 5 minutes. I love a HOT shower, but breathing that hot air kills me.
