This weight loss is courtesy of colonoscopy prep followed by over 24 hours of the worst migraine in my adult history (I hardly ate anything for two days). I am not holding my breath to stay at this weight; however, it would be nice!
153.4 lb Lost so far: 6.6 lb.    Still to go: 3.4 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
losing 4.2 lb a week

I empathize with you dear migraines are just no fun I take two separate medicines for migraines and have an emergency medicine as well. although you are correct that you probably will not maintain the weight loss it is still a worthy goal to try. I hope everything goes well with your procedure and kudos for you for following your prep as directed that is something to be quite happy with. This show is your consistency and goal setting and follow through and that on the other hand is something that shows that you'll continue to lose weight just like you want. I know it sounds so frustrating when you hear it but remember that this is not a Sprint but rather a marathon and something that you're going to continue for the rest of your life. Tried to remember when possible that the habits and skills that you're using are much more important than the small gains and losses. I hope everything goes well with your procedure and I'll look in on you later so please let us know with an update after it's done I wish you the best I know it won't be pleasant but do your best. 🌞

You have full control of staying at this weight or gaining it back. Just like it was your choice to mind your calories and food intake to clean out your colon and lose weight, you choose to ignore what you are eating and the amounts, leading to weight gain, guilt and frustration. Your actions and choices are the only difference. Actively look to find that balance that you said you are looking for, instead of going extreme for a burst of time and then regress. Best of luck!

Thanks for all the kind words. Colonoscopy results were fine. What an ordeal that was! Per some comments above, I don't "choose to ignore" what I am eating or the amounts. At this point in my life I have tracked and not tracked calories alike. It really doesn't make a difference. My set genetic weight range is in the 150s. Also because I know a lot about nutrition and calories, the information is intuitive. I eat small portions, a balanced diet, and eat intuitively most of the time. This means I try to eat only for physical hunger, not for emotional reasons unless that reason is a celebration. In which case cake is more than appropriate. The mostly stable quality of my weight attests to the mostly stable quality of my eating behavior, and this way I do not have to obsess about tracking. Cheers everyone!
