Well crud and more crud!! I've been struggling with these darn 10 lbs and am going in the wrong direction, I'm doing too much grazing I guess. Still eating low carb, but at the end of the day it is more than I realize since it is ingested in small amounts all day. I've got to get a handle on my behaviour. Getting ready to go to my mom's for 10 days, taking my turn caring for her. Started another round of iron infusions, tests didn't show why i am chronically anemic, but no bone marrow maligancy was found. So I'll just go with periodic infusions and call it good. Our 20 year old grandson has been laid off from his job and has spent 3 weeks with us. He and Granddad have gotten lots of things marked of his to do list. Hope all of you are doing well.

I was a grazer too... I finally had to Time-restrict my feedings... I now have a breakfast window of 08:00 - 09:30... lunch is 13:00 - 14:20... dinner is 18:00 - 19:30... at first it was a tough task, but it has become much easier the more I practice it... if I do need a snack, I find the lowest impact foods like Olives or Baby Pickles... but nothing like that after 21:00.

Try to switch things up. Try 45% carbs, 30% fat, and 25% protein with calorie deficit. This works 100% of the time as long as you keep the ingredients healthy and clean as possible. Have rice, sweet potato, fruits, quinoa, etc. for your carbs. I've been doing this for a long time now, except that now I am maintaining. Your weight and fat % will start going down even faster if you add exercise 3 times a week. You can do it! 💪

Sorry to hear that. Starting the day with a pretty significant amount of protein has been shown to help people consume less throughout the day. If you are not already, perhaps it could be a helpful addition? Good luck either way. 😎

Ahh this resonates with me. I am a huge grazer, and even though it’s usually healthy foods, it puts me way above my calorie limit if I don’t keep it in check. Best of luck to you as you make some changes.

No sense to reduce carbs. Try to find your base calories and reduce it by 15-20% not more, it’s important. Try to count calories and protein, at least 1.2-1.5g protein per 1kg of your weight a day, try to spread by equal portions. Carbs are not bed, eat complex carbs for energy. All low carbs diets are not healthy and it works in the way that 1 gram of carb keeps about 4g of water, so on low carbs you primarily losing water

I'm struggling with the last 10 pounds too. I was doing well recently, but then I started binging on food in the evening and lost all control. I gained weight. Oh well, I guess it happens sometimes. I'll keep trying. I eat all foods but I keep my net calories low by exercising and by planning what I eat. I lost 70 pounds this way. I still would like to lose 10 more. I agree with Jurij's comments.

Cidaliadoingit: I enjoy respectful discussion. So on that note, I am going to politely disagree with your conclusion. Here is my thoughts: Carbs are not causing any issues (unless you have a specific intolerance, etc.) Rather, overconsumption is more likely the culprit. The studies show similar results for people whether they follow a low carb/high fat diet or they follow a high carb/low fat diet, when protein and calories are controlled for and are equal between the two. The larger issue impacting our insulin response is our body composition. The loss of lean mass as we age is the real culprit for a lot of the issues we run into. And the reason for that is generally that we stop doing a lot of the things we did when we were younger. For example, when is the last time you just jumped repeatedly for no good reason? I believe many of the common issues people are experiencing can be corrected with lifestyle choice adjustments. Unfortunately, we seem to be lacking patience these days and are often looking for the quick or easy answers. Which usually aren’t. That’s my opinion, anyway. 😎

Do you need to eat small meals because of your WLS?
