Yearofhealth2023's Journal, 25 May 2023

Well the great experiment has to pause. Trying to be around 1200-1300 calories and less protein I’m putting a small amt of weight back on. 143.8 to 144.6 not quite a pound but thats how it starts. Back to higher protein and lower calories again. Need more muscles. Wish i had the body from 10 years ago, no adrenal failure, no pulmonary disease, no messy thyroid and not post menopausal. Pity party kind of day. Off to the walk and the trainer it’s beautiful outside. Moving on.
144.6 lb Lost so far: 82.4 lb.    Still to go: 9.6 lb.    Diet followed 100%.

It takes time to build. If it was that easy everyone would look like the photoshop guy. However I will say a diet for losing weight is not an efficient diet for muscle building and vice versa. Keep going, you’re already at a good spot anything else you achieve from here out is extra

Thanks super. Sending you a hug for that. Im aware just trying to up my calories. I was sub 800 for first many months last July just to get the scale moving. Meeting with doc today to go over my labs and talk about my adrenal glands. These last 10 pounds are just for vanity and room for fluctuations on vacation etc. i appreciate you🥰

You got this and it is hard! I tell you just the menopausal issues affect us and in my case I cannot be on HRT so I have to rely on strict diet and weight bearing exercise for sure. No two journey's are the same and you will find out where your sweet spot is for calories! Keep your eye on the prize! You have surgery coming up and you will be ready to shine and be at your best. You got this.

Rpl-got home from lab review. She spent 90 minutes with me for Pete’s sakes. She’s much happier than i am. Soooo generally speaking adrenal glands do not heal from whatever devastation has been wrought upon them but for whatever reason mine have shown a very slight improvement! Still functioning at about 10% but an improvement. Complete failure means Addisons disease so i will take it! Also, shes not super worried about my cholesterol based on the other numbers so have another four months before we re evaluate. More oatmeal more beans. She also wants me to take this peptide with me for post surgery recovery. Bpc157. It’s a shot once a week for four weeks. Supposed to really aid in recovery/. Have you heard of this?

YOh I was diagnosed with adrenal fatigue a few years back. Treatment helps a bit but I’m still tired all the time and it’s hard to get everything done especially when there’s too much on my plate already. Not sure how adrenal fatigue compares to adrenal failure but I’d love to exchange adrenal tips anytime

Me too. What treatment did they put you on. So far we are just trying to address nutrition, supplements needed and excercise. Funny thing….i get lightheaded all the time lasts about 30 seconds many many times a day. Does this happen to you? Doc has no idea why

Yoh did you get the se light headedness when you were plump?

I had my first episode of losing consciousness when i was around six or seven. I was also anemic most of my life till post menopause but, now that i think about it, no. When i was a little chubbo I didn’t. It started up again when i had surgery. Thought it was the narcotics and then i had a second surgery 42 days later 9 hours anesthesia and more narcotics and then lost consciousness and landed face down on my travertine kitchen floor. It’s been since then. Dunno if prolonged reaction to being on narcotics for so long when they are foreign to my body or if the extreme calorie plunge i had to do to get weight moving. My doc is baffled. She doesn’t see anything on my labs that would explain but i generally have to put my head down for a few seconds and it clears up.

Also, the bpc156b peptide she wants me on for six months not four weeks post surgery. I just read her post review notes.

YOH I have never heard of the peptide but sounds worth trying if it aids in recovery. I did receive a shot after my chemo treatments that helped with my bloodwork. That is awesome news that you are showing improvement with your adrenal glands. I could handle more oatmeal but not a bean lover. It will be interesting to see how much more you can improve your cholesterol in 4 months. I like watching the numbers and trying to get them better.

What was the shot you received rpl? Im an overachiever and now that i can move I’m hyper focused on trying to get everything green. Go go go. Yes, she was really surprised. It was a very minute gain but that it improved at all is astonishing. Funny, first thing she asked me when we met was, “hows your stress?” I laughed and said i had none. Im a little concerned for my gorgeous daughter but not at the point of stress yet!!!! That was a first. Probably because i decided not to go back to work and gave my keys back may 1st. Ive never said no stress to anyone before. Yippeeeeee

Well I also think it’s the low calories. You should try doubling up your cals for 1 week and see if stops the light headedness... does your doctor knows how much cals you intake daily? Also I’ve tried bpc157... when I had elbow pain that was so bad that I would shake taking off my shirt, or pulling down my pants. Any daily activity, heard the bpc157 makes you like wolverine and I was desperate to try it. Almost 200 bucks a bottle and it didn’t work! Load of crap. But maybe I got jipped... who knows it’s online...

Isn't that amazing what stress can do to our bodies!! I took Neulasta and also Neupogen. It is to help increase your white blood cells due to chemo killing everything in your body. I lost all my hair, eyelashes, nose hairs and body hair when I was on chemo. It helps so that chemo patients because their immune system is shot and fight off infection. I am sure they are used for other things but I am not aware of what that would be. I think that they learn a lot of things from different drugs that help people with like the peptides to aide recovery. I know I try to not be on any medication but there are a lot of things out there that have been discovered to help people have a better life when it is something out of their control.

Hmmm that’s interesting... I wonder if antibiotics has the same effect as chemo.... but in a lower dosage. I had a doctor that put me on antibiotics for a scalp condition for 5yrs. I lost all my nose hairs and thinning of all hair on my body. I researched endlessly online for answers and tried things and finally cured myself. I’ve got no trust in doctors 👎 surgical but that’s it.

Well I’m not sure if bpc156b and bpc157 are same. This is an injection but I’m sure they are in the same family. I will message doc and. Ask her. Yes rpl, doc is 100% certain the decades of extreme stress with no let up since childhood did that. I highly recommend people take breaks via vacation or leave as i normally cashed out and didn’t take time off except thanksgiving and Xmas. Last 13 years no vaca. Previous 18 years took a month in Europe when kiddo graduated, ten days in Bahamas when she was 12, 10 days in Disney world when she was 7 and a few days in Hawaii once. Other than that it was little trips on days off. Probably didn’t help.

SUPER-i just remembered. You asked hubs bench. When he was heavy lifting it was 410 now it’s 350. He definitely lost some strength and size. Think his chest was 44” in those days and Bi’s were def bigger but his overall strength and conditioning is so much better and his blood pressure normalized as he dropped 20 pounds when not trying to lift heavy. He keeps trying to get me to do kettlebells with him. Maybe one day. We used to lift together.

Welp, I guess you just proved Super right... albeit unintentionally. He does keep saying something about protein burning easier? Idk the exact term, but... this isn't something to beat yourself over the head with. Get back up, dust yourself off, and get back on that grind! We're all here rooting for you! 🫂

Your sodium was 1,000 mg higher on the 24th. I think it was water weight.

No she didn’t prove me right, if anything she proved science right lol thermic effect of proteins is a scientific fact. But your husband is very impressive yoh! Those are some strong numbers! One I don’t even plan to reach! 😂
