I am having a hard time with being motivated with my "diet"-- just eating junk food... more than heathly stuff... feels like my body is just craving things that I have "missed" in the last several months... kind of discouraginag... gained too many pounds since Christmas-- gotta get my head in the right place... kind of discouraged bout it...

Couple of things.. It is hard to stay motivated when I do not have you guys as backup.. (still no real internet at home).. and when people around me say Oh it is ok too eat this...." when you are in this state of mind that I am in... real bummer....

The holidays were a huge distraction for a lot of us and it can be hard to get out of that rut because our bodies crave those sugars, carbs, and bad stuff once we start eating them. Sometimes we just have to do mind over matter, make it a purpose to not eat the bad stuff, drinks lots of water to flush out the crud and see if you can get some additional activity or exercise. My experience is once you get through the first day you'll get part of the excess water out, weight will be down which is a motivator, and you'll feel better, ready to keep moving forward. Don't listen to the people telling you it's OK to eat garbage, they are not your friends at this point! :)

You're doing great. I find that certain foods make me crave junk, and junk makes me crave other junk. I read an article yesterday and the author referred to them as trigger foods. @Jmb3450 gave some good advice. Maybe it might help if you say, okay Thursday is the last day for these foods, and then start fresh on Friday! :)

it's not easy, but it gets easier if you can stick with it

I am struggling, too. I have given in to weakness so much over the past couple of months. I haven't been motivated to work out. I'm tired all of the time and I know it's because I've been cheating on my diet and incorporating more processed foods than I had been in the past. I guess what I'm trying to say is don't feel like you're alone in this. It's hard...everyday. Hang in there! I know I'm trying to!

You know what would be a great motivator? Go pick up a 40 lb. bag of salt and carry it around with you all day. Remind yourself that that is just a small fraction of what you use to carry around on a daily basis and how far you have come. And then imagine how you will feel when you lose those last 23.8 lbs. :) You have a lot of people cheering you on! Don't listen to those who don't!!
