Doing OK. I have been doing Atkins about one week. It is the easiest way to maintain one's weight. It is restrictive, but I have done it before. I am moving in about a week! I am getting a brand new condo. I am so glad, and I will be on a bus route that goes right to my nearby gym, so I will get swimming there pretty much daily. I have arthritis badly enough that I can't always work out. I am self-publishing three books in 2015. They are done. I am having a former schoolteacher I know edit them. I hope everyone is well. I am OK. I know I will get on the site here more in 2015. My life has been in a sort of limbo - waiting to move - and it is going to happen next week the way things look now.

Good Luck! I'm actually doing a Ketogenic lifestyle, similar to Atkins, but when you go the Ketogenic route, you count micronutrients - carbs, fats and protein. I I did Atkins as well and find I like the Ketogenic lifestyle better.

Hi, thanks for posting. I still do NOT like the way the site is set up now. Before you went right to your diet page. It isn't as user friendly on here and so I think that has caused many to leave the site. I am doing Atkins. No fruit, sweets, no potatoes, french fries, only low-carb bread. I have been doing it about two weeks and I feel better and less bloated. I do take a bit of potassium daily as one's potassium level usually plummets dramatically on Atkins. I am moving hopefully within a week or two. There is a lot of potassium in avocados and mushrooms, but it is mostly found in our diets in fruit.

Hi, I am back on. I moved into a nice condo for a single person, so busy with that. I hope to get back to the gym soon to swim. I am doing OWL Atkins. I do not want to go too low carb to start out. My weight is steady, my appetite is not out of control. I know once I get swimming at the gym regularly that I will lose weight.

You should get the book "protein power" it is similar to atkins but what is really awesome is they have amazing low carb recipes in their book. I tried their low carb roll recipe. It is actually easy to make and they taste really good! my brother even loved them. I also use them as burger buns.

Thanks Panigale. The site is still quite confusing to me. Two years ago or so they changed it. Nearly all my friends on here left I noticed after it was done, there are easier sites to use, IMHO is why they left. I have gained a bit due to arthritis - and lack of exercise. I hope to get to the gym more often, and go swimming, etc.--- I use light weights in the pool, so I am on the muscular side now, but I really need to lose weight. I want to be 220 by the end of June. Meds I am on also slow down my metabolism to a tremendous degree too. I have tendinitis in the left knee, I will try to get a brace. I have been dealing with meddling people on my medical records, a lot of information is off and the rare type of arthritis I have the clueless doctors, PA's and NP's are almost ALL like talking to brick walls without a brain anywhere in a medical room - nothing new with that.
