flaxseed's Journal, 19 June 2011

This downward journey is sooo slow. Still I suppose its better than slowly up! The news from SIL is more optimistic. Her brain tumour is very slow growing and is in a place where it isn't going to cause her any problems. It will be watch and see.

After all the trauma of the last few months life is moving on. I'm still finding it hard to shop and cook for one and loneliness is something I have to overcome. Its made harder by the fact that people don't know what to say and avoid me. Sometimes a 'hello' in passing instead of appearing not to see me would be nice. I'm beginning to think I'm invisible!

Weather here is abysmal. Rain, high winds and even hail at times. The peonies and oriental poppies are flattened and the petals scattered far and wide. The plum tree is listing badly and I've had to attempt putting in a stake and tying it upright again. Raspberries are looking a bit sick - I think its been caused by drifting of spray in the wind as they sprayed the crops last week. There are some wonderful cloud formations over the hills this morning but at least its not raining.

Hope everyone has a happy and peaceful Sunday and next week is full of happiness and joy.
