I've been on Atkins since Feb. 23,2009 at a weight of 235 lbs. and have lost 86 lbs. so far. You can do it! All I used to do was sit ,watch tv or movies and eat junk food. Sooo,it was tough on me for the first week as I was a caffine and carb. addict,so I went thru some terriable headaches and nausea at first. Once I didn't fall back into my old ways, my body made the adjustments it needed and I started losing. I lost 20 lbs. in the first 2 weeks. BUT..I had a lot more to lose than you do,so yours should come off a little slower. Atkins is a great healthy choice for a new dietary lifestyle. This is the only one that I have ever been on that I wasn't hungry. Just be sure to drink your 8 8oz. glasses of water everyday, and since your on induction, eat 12-15 nc (net carbs) from veggies daily as well. You are allowed 20 nc daily, so make good choices with the nc's that you have left. Do you have Dr. Atkins newest book yet? If you don't..make sure to get one. It will help you sooo much along the way. Also..if you haven't checked out the Atkin's website, you should! It's free, and there are lots of folks there to answer questions and offer encouragement when you need it. I know it's helped me more than I can say! There are free classes there as well, that can teach you what you need to know about the Atkins low carb lifestyle and how to go about doing it. Then..if you have questions there are several knowledgeable folks there that have done this for a long while and can help you. There's also a nutrictionist on the site to help you. Try it..www.Atkins.com. I am diabetic to..and now my sugar is way under control so well, my Dr.'s about to take me off my med. I feel sooo much better now! Not to mention the energy I now have is really great too! ☺ Kat~☺~

Your very welcome! Just give it about a week to get past the detox and you'll be doing great! It took me that long to get over it. Yep..the cravings will be there for a little bit,but when you get past that 2 week mark, you'll be amazed that the cravings will have diminished greatly! Just stick to your guns, and stay committed to getting healthier! You'll be surprised at how much energy you will have and at how much better you will feel! Not to mention on how much weight you will have lost just the first week, IF you follow the plan of induction the way it should be. I very much suggest that you go to the Atkins site and explore the options available to you. Hey...it's FREE too! You will learn soooo much and there are wonderful folks there to help guide you along the way on your journey. Their support has really helped me through some tough times in my life. I only just recently joined this site and am still learning how to get around on it, but I love the recipe section, which is one of the reasons I joined..lol! Kat~☺~

I am an Atkins returnee. I went wild for a couple of years and now am paying the price. On day 4 of induction and still tired, but getting better. Am 159 now and wanting to get back to 130. You can do it!
