There is no way the calories in, calories out theory is correct. For the past 3 weeks I have tracked my food & exercise meticulously. I have burned 13,400 calories which should equate to about 3.5 pounds lost. I have actually lost 9 pounds.

Well there are more things that factor in to weight loss. The formula is for an actual pound of fat. That doesn't include the water and muscle you may be losing too. Other factors in weight loss are genetics, your activity level, sex (female/male), age, current weight, amount of muscle you have, etc.
