Hi Elle_111, I agree I definitely feel that way too, I think if one day I decided to plan ahead and decide on what I would be eating for a week or so then that would help me as food would then become a background part of my life just like brushing teeth where I don't put any mental energy into it.

I have to stay away when I'm doing an extended fast. Seeing the yummy pics wreaks havoc with my monkey brain! I'm currently at hour 70 of a 72 hour fast, so its safe to come back😄

Hi Devon dumplin, wow that's very impressive with your fast I wish I could go that long without food haha. I would worry for your health if you also weren't drinking any water I'm gonna hope you're atleast doing that 😅

Oh gosh yes! The (average) human body can survive weeks with no food, but not without water. I drink plenty and take electrolytes when I do extended fasts.

I think FS is good for learning about all the different food and exercise options that are out there for managing calories in and out, and people's different experiences with them. I find the pictures of other people's meals and exercise interesting and sometimes inspiring. I think it would be sad if eating food became just a boring maintenance activity like brushing teeth. I enjoy looking forward to my next meal. And planning ahead using FS helps me to manage my tendency to overeat.

Hi Devon dumpling glad you're drinking water I was a bit worried there haha

Hi Bearwood I guess I see your point of not wanting food to be boring, I was mainly thinking of just wanting to spend as little time as possible thinking about food because I feel like that tempts me more to eat. I feel I struggle a lot with temptation and self control, if I was better then I think I'd be able to see it like you can where you can be inspired by other people's food choices but that feels very hard for me to do right now.

Yes, everyone's different and you have to do what works best for you. Can you still use the FS tools to plan and organise your meals even if you don't want to view the pictures of food posted by other users?

Hi Bearwood, I'm unsure what tools you're talking about, is it the diary? I usually write what I eat after I've ate it in there, I never thought about putting what I'm going to eat in there. If you aren't talking about the diary then I'm afraid I don't know what tools you're talking about

This app helps with meal planning. Looking at what other people eat is okay, but in the end, it is up to you and your determination to stay fit or lose weight that will matter.

Yes, writing down what you've eaten after eating it can be useful to show where we are going wrong - but then we need to plan and organise ourselves to do things better. The food diary helps with planning meals for a healthy balanced diet and appropriate portion sizes.

Hi meckC I agree, my motivation comes and goes I'd like to aim to be more consistent.

Hi Bearwood, thank you I'll try to plan meals out in advance on this app then, I'd never thought about doing it like that before haha
