meonadiet's Journal, 27 September 2021

This last week I increased my calories and switched up my macros (fat increased). Did okay. Not sure if that's the reason I lost some weight or because I was better at tracking my food. I also wanted to increase my water intake -> Failed.

Water is a tough one if it’s a new habit! Drink an 8 ounce glass before each meal and at waking and bedtime. It adds up! That alone is 40 ounces. *According to dieticians,* coffee, tea, juice, cola, soup broth, jello, and the like; basically any clear liquid, all count, too … although there are always “water fanatics” (with what credentials, I always wonder?) who will vigorously argue otherwise.

Thanks grammalaura. Great suggestions. I've been trying. I do drink a lot of tea. I few years back the Gastroenterologist who performed my colonoscopy said water is best. Good news dieticians feel differently.

Your gastro guy is right! Water IS best - but other clear liquids also count.

I hate water that has always been a challenge for me. I drink a lot of herbal tea, which adds taste and very little calories if any.

I have many valid sources that say any liquid that doesn’t include sugar is valid. I seldom drink plain water. I add lemon or lime (great for preventing kidney stones), brewed decaf, tea, etc. If I’m really overheated, I may drink plain water but I like flavor. Way to go. Funny how minor changes can have solid impact. ❤️

Great to know others also don't love plain water & other options are fine. I use to love it, not sure what happened. Thanks!

Drinking more water doesn't really do anything weight-wise. What it does do is help the skin be more elastic and smooth. Drink other things that are easier for you to take in like suggested above.
