Don't beat yourself up you have come so far. Try maybe giving yourself a break, maybe a cheat day, maybe just treating yourself to something you like to do, not your family just you.

Hang in there! This too shall pass. I love the idea of treating yourself to something just for you -- maybe a massage or mani/pedi or ?. Xoxox

hang in there tulip ....it can get a bit much at times. don't give up. perhaps you need to hone in on what will keep you focused and motivated as you push towards your target. Do you recall your reasonsfor starting this journey? You have to keep reminding yourself why. Also it's important to take the time to figure out the formula that will work for you. maybe it's a cheat day, maybe you treat yourself to a massage or something else that is indulgent, etc. The key thing is that you will struggle if you feel deprived. your eating formula has to be something you can live with without feeling like you are missing something you can't live without. the transformation is not just about what you are eating ...it's also about what's eating you (this process is psychological and physical ... it goes hand in hand). I know you can get through this. As Ruhu said, this too shall pass. thinking of you and sending hugs.

Thanks for the ideas and support; powerful words Jenn! I have to get at what's eating me and that is way harder than what I'm eating. Sometimes that part is painful and I'm not ready to delve into some of that . . ..

Tulip, when you are ready you will go there. For now, just live one moment at a time and be mindful of your eating and thoughts. Try to be clear on whether you are eating for hunger or cravings (emotions). Eating only when you are hungry will help. It will become a habit over time. I used to respond only to my cravings and now I realize I did that because it was the only solo thing I enjoyed. I think eating sweet treats was a hobby of sorts. I took pride in locating gourmet cakes and pastry shops ... almost like a sport. That's behind me now ...the allure of that stuff has waned and i have broken the spell (but I have to watch myself... it could happen again if I don't watch myself). Keep your eyes on your target ...you will get there.

Like Jenn said - eyes on your target - I just looked at your weight graph and it looks pretty inspirational to me. Just keep up the good work you are already doing! Cheers

I wish someone could just watch the baby so I could go for a nice pedicure! Deep thoughts again . . . I'm going to have to let it brew for a while . . . . I think the next 40 pounds I want to lose will be difficult, they were gained at very difficult stages in my life, and they are still eating at me ... . .

Thank you guys! Honestly, I think I am depressed at least 1/2 the time . . . . and the sun's just not shining here today . . . . .
28 Mar 14 by member: Tulipgirl6
it's difficult especially when the sun is not shining. But just for today... YOU CAN DO THIS

If you really do feel noticably worse on dsy the sun isn't out you may think about supplementing vitami d3. Being d3 defficent actually has 'feeling depressed' as a symptom (so do the b complex vitamins). And this time of year coming out of winter and not getting enough sunlight to get that vitamin d from, it's pretty common. Keep looking up <3

I take vitamin d3 all winter probably too much but if I take less I get really down. You mentioned that you wished someone could take care of your baby for a short time. Try that. Friend, family member, dad, even a mom's day out day care. We moved around a lot when my girls were little. Mom's day out was my go to lifesaver as I often didn't have friends or family nearby and my DH worked insane hours.

Back then an hour to even go grocery shopping with no kids was a godsend to my attitude.

Hey Tulip! You cannot give up now! You have achieved so much already. Do not allow bad days to snowball into weeks or months. That's what got us here to begin with. Be proud of every victory no matter how small you feel they are. Keep your head high. We are all here for you.

43lbs gone!! An amazing achievement. You should be very proud of yourself and how far you have come. I agree with everyone in saying that you sound like you need a break for some me time if you can possibly manage to arrange it. The suggestions for D3 also sound good - may I suggest you up your magnesium intake too if you are not still breast feeding and have no kidney problems? Most adults are very magnesium deprived as I have found with myself recently. 2.5-4.5 mg per lb of body weight is a formula recommended on krispin.com and I have to say that since I started taking 800mg per day split into two doses I have really noticed a big difference in how I feel. Wish I'd known about it years ago. There's plenty to read on google if you are hesitant, but it's working for me. Good luck at the quack's (doctor's) and don't stress about your weight loss - that can literally weigh on you in more ways than one. You will get there in your own time. And happy birthday for next week. Age is only a number!! :0D

I take a calcium, magnesium, zinc combo and keep plain magnesium at home and at work because sometimes it will stop a migraine without drugs or sleep. Most people are low on it. Just if you do add it slowly. It also can be counter indicated if you are on certain meds. I can't take it right now or even my multi-vitamins because it will stop the effectiveness of the anti-bacterial I'm on.

Wholefoodnut is right - check out the contra indications if you are on orescription meds for anything; all of the sites I have read give you what to look out for. One of the biggest things when choosing a magnesium supplement is to choose one which is highly bio available and won't upset your digestive system as some magnesium forms can. Don't waste your money on magnesium oxide for instance - it's cheap, but only 4% of the magnesium content can be absorbed by the body. Not good. I personally take Doctor's Best - it is one of the best formulations for absorption and does not upset the digestive tract (no trots*). Again, krispin.com has a good page on this subject. *runny tummy (diarrhoea)
