Why would you want to quit???? You are down 3.6 pounds in 9 days. If you lost 3.6 pounds every 9 days for a year, you would be down 144 lbs in a year. How insane is that?? Our bodies are made up of 60% water, to the scale is going to up and down all day long. Do an experiment one Saturday. Weight first thing in the morning before eating and drinking anything and after going t the bathroom. Then weigh every few hours all day. You will see the scale go up and down. Exercise, sodium in the food we at, the kinds of foods we eat, medications, lack of sleep, etc. all affect the scale. Google "why the scale lies" for insight. Now stop that "quitting" nonsense and get back on plan. Drink your water. Go out for walks. This is about living a long quality life. You can do it.

Hang in there. This, too, (Whatever it is) shall pass. It always does. As Suzi says, you can't be disappointed in your losses. Overall, you're doing great. Is it the restriction that's bothering you? Making you feel deprived or left out? Consider your plan.

Sorry to hear that, wish I had the magic answer for you or the perfect solution to help you with your journey. I don't think about quitting because I started Atkins as a lifestyle change not a diet. I know for myself that the only way for me to lose weight and keep it off means I need to stay away from certain foods forever, that includes bread, and ANYTHING sweet! Being a sugar addict it doesn't take long for one slip to send me into a 2-3 month binge. I still think you need to really look at your meal plan, check your net carb #s, your protein, water intake etc. Maybe there is something you are missing? Give yourself a day or so to think about it before you make that decision. I'd really like you to stay and see if this will be the right change to help you? Hang in there Barb, we are here for you!

Arrr, I won't quit.. but man oh man I am annoyed. I have done this way of eating 2 times in the past, and done great.. nice kick start weight loss, then little bits here and there, and I was ok with it. No I sure don't feel deprived. Likeablesmile, My plan looks great to me, I am eating 20 net carbs, give or take one or two.. 12-15 in net veggies.. and getting in fat and protein.. 4 oz per meal... and drinking tons of water... and going for walks and some exercise.. arrggg

Glad you aren't going to quit. Annoyed I get. Check out the article on my latest journal post. Don't listen to anyone who talks about deprivation. Eating what we wanted got us here....eating what we know is healthy for our bodies will get us fit and lean. Write about how annoyed you are! Exercise because you so annoyed! Stick with it because you know in a year you will be so healthy and happy! You can do this!

I am so confused, all day I am second guessing this plan, and worried, it isn't for me, which totally bites because I am finding it easy to follow. Its funny , what works for one, doesn't work for another... one other person doing atkins, can have their bars, I find, I can't very often.. which is fine.. I just hear over and over, I lost slowly too, yes, I lose slow too.. I am like, arrgg I am going on a huge trip in July.. to Ireland, very excited.. but, I also have to lose as least 30 lbs before I go, because the flight seats are soo small, I was miserable, on our flights to maui... and I can't do it for 13 hrs.. and it really stresses me out... Just gotta get this weight off.. I guess if I lose 6 lbs per month, I will get there...Ok that makes me feel better... I can do that, right..

My first month on Weight Watchers I only lost about 6-7 pounds, but that was my start. Some weeks I gained and more I lost. There's plateaus, there's stalls, then there's weeks of , "Wow and Praise the Lord !!" losses. Weeks of changing up things that worked two months ago that don't work any more. I've had to start tracking calories and WW Points, and now am ramping up my activity. One day at a time, one day at a time....you can do this !!!! :)
