Success! Things are going well so far diet-wise! I'm pleasantly surprised =) I haven't been exercising like I've been wanting to, but the weight is still coming off and I'm stoked.

Went to the doctor yesterday and last week... I've been having a few bad streaks there and that's been a little upsetting lately. Good news is I'm STD free and not pregnant but the pap went bad and they're saying I might have cervical cancer. I love how doctors like to scare you. I spent most of my lunch break crying and ended up going home early. All I have to say is I think they're just trying to exclude things that it could be, but I don't think that's what it is either. I should get the results back next week... I'll keep you guys updated. I'm just really lucky for the family and friends that I do have and for the boyfriend that I have. I opened the door to my apartment with Brian standing in the doorway with his arms open to give me a hug... that definitely made me feel better after a bad day. I just want this to go away, but I'll keep my fatsecret buddies updated.

I have had abnormal paps since I was very young. HPV can cause an abnormal pap but it is normally the first pap right after you contract it, then it goes back to normal. However HPV can cause abnormal cells to go haywire and you end up with cervical cancer. I had to have a LEEP procedure last year and so far so good, I just can no longer carry children. There is no treatment for HPV, and anyone who has ever had sex with anyone that had sex with anyone else is more than 90% likely to have HPV it is that common anymore. Talk with your doctor and follow their plan of action and things will turn around. If this is the first abnormal they will probably have you cont to go back every 6 months until you get 3 normal in a row. Keep your chin up and I will be keeping you in my prayers. God Bless Dawn

I had the same thing happen to me on my very first pap smear. It's really scary so I definitely feel you there. My doc told me that the stats are pretty good for HPV clearing up on its own. If 4 women have HPV, 2 of the 4 will clear up naturally, 1 will not progress at all, but still give abnormal pap smears and 1 may progress to mild or moderate dysplasia which is when other means might be necessary to get rid of the abnormal cells. Cervical cancer takes anywhere from 8-10 years to develop from HPV so as long as you're visiting your gyn regularly, you should be fine. :) Good luck!
