The Blue Box's Journal, 21 February 2014

Last night, I was going to have a healthy snack of apples and almond butter, but I think I may have overdone it on the almond butter. :P

I ran 3 days in a row this week! WOO HOO! I'm going to try and run again today, but the weather man says we have really bad thunderstorms coming our way and a possible tornado warning. :/

What does almond butter taste like? Better than peanut butter? I want to try it but I wouldn't know where to buy it :p And almonds are so expensive! 5 or 6 euros for 250 grams and I think I need way more almonds to make almond butter with it :p

Sooo much better than peanut butter and it has a more nutty, rich flavor I think. I've made my own and it's better than store bought, but I love Maranatha Almond Butter and Justin's Almond Butter. I know Walmart and Amazon have them, but unfortunately, I don't think you have those stores near you... I would check your local food store; it should be mixed in with the peanut butter. If you really want to try it, I know both stores have an online store. Just be careful, it is addictive! Justin's: http://tinyurl.com/lsaq4xj and Maranatha: http://tinyurl.com/oxoqrjk

That's why I weigh out 2 tbsp. of peanut butter when I eat an apple or I would probably indulge too. :) Congrats getting 3 days in a row down.

Yep....That stuff is the BOMB! Nuts are a healthy fat so your body processes it differently than bad fats. Nut butters are also full of nutrients :) I wouldn't worry too much about the occasional overindulgence unless you are trying to reach a competitive level of leanness. I think of all the nut butters I like almond the best! Some of the others are really rich and super expensive.I would suggest the Maranatha no stir chunky and buy on Amazon.com.
