Day 4, I think. The days are running together. We finally had a shower and washed our hair and that felt so much better. We were stinky!

Yesterday we made a hot meal and took it around to my parents house. They still have no electricity and Mum is so traumatised that she won't leave the house. She was shopping in the middle of the city when the quake struck and she can't even talk about what she saw.

Tonight we will be making them a large pizza, as they can eat that hot and then cold later on.

We also had to make an inventory of their freezer, they lost a lot of food.

Johnny is up on our roof making our chimney (what is left of it) watertight. I am so worried about heating our house this winter. That was our only form of heating. We will have to try to get a builder to take it down fully next week.

I have been checking up on the old man across the road, we got his roof covered yesterday so he didn't get rain into his house. He would never have complained.

Amongst all this stress TOM arrived too. And nasty again. So off we went to the doctor and I ended up with the same prescription I was give after the last quake, and it took the same amount of days for me to crack too. I have some anti anxiety meds now which help me a lot. No more constant panic (apart from when the frequent aftershocks hit).

I can still hardly believe that this is our beautiful city that has been destroyed. I love my city, and it will now never be the same again. Neither will we.

Thank you everyone for your support and caring, it means a lot to me, I cry a lot of happy tears when reading your messages and all your prayers are very much appreciated. Sorry I can't reply to everyone. Emotional energy is scarce lately.

Oh, we understand! It's just so good to hear from you. To hear what you are going thru. So lovely that you could help your neighbor gentleman! Funny how in the worst of times, it makes you feel like bonding together with strangers and such. (don't know if he was a stranger) but you get what I mean. Glad you were able to get over to your parents. It will likely take your mom a lot of time to process. She may never want to talk about it, but I do hope she eventually ventures out. Helping others may be a good way for her to start. Although they have no power, they have their lives,...and maybe she too has a neighbor she could check on. Much love to you, and thank you for keeping us posted. Continuing to pray for you!

My dear friend, you and your family and the rest of your city have been through so much devistation. Makes other troubles not even seem like problems at all. I'm saying a special prayer for your mother. Of course I am praying for you too. Glad that your doctor appointment went well. Don't worry about responding to everyone. Take alot of time to get better. Update us when you can. Love you girl! Big Hugs{{{}}}

Just take care of you and your family. Your friends here will still be here when you get time. Don't worry a second about it. Personally, I appreciate the update so much. I've been watching the news and cannot even imagine how devastating it is to see your beautiful city in ruins. I don't know how many times I've seen before and after pictures of your cathedral in the past few days. Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers.

So sweet of you to even mention thinking about our journals at a time like this. But, then, I can sense your sweet spirit as you write. You've been through a lot of trauma, a lot. Just take one day at a time ... I think of you often ... I know those you are looking out for appreciate it. Take care the best you can!!

Squiggs, I have been keeping a eye on your earthquake chart and I see you had a little break from them! Just noticed they have started up again! Praying for you and yours and that god gives you the strength to carry on though it all! Sending love and hugs and lots of hope to you!
