Okay I knew it was going to be horrible, I procrastinated weighing myself... And I also procrastinated about posting my new weight. But its time to face the music!
I cant believe I gained not one not two or even three... But FOUR pounds this week. Geez!!! Ughhh, talk about two steps backward.
Im not mad or upset... a little disappointed, but not too much. Im not giving up on my diet either. So what I messed up!!!! I have been on my diet for 3 full weeks and 2 of those weeks were amazingly great and one was amazingly bad. But this is a new week and Im determined to make this a better week. The way I see it, I am going to have many many more bumps on the road to my weight loss. If losing weight was easy none of us would be here on fatsecret. As long as I can manage to have more good weeks than bad weeks, then I will be okay.
Here are some of the reasons for my weight gain... All the things I have a long term love-hate relationship with... Kitkats, reeses, hershey kisses, and french fries. I hate that I love them sooo much! Well now that I got them out of my system for awhile I should be okay ;)
On a positive note... I had salad every day. I did not drink soda. And most importantly I have not given up on my diet. I am in this for the long run people!!!!
I worked out alot today, I am feeling G-O-O-D!!!! I am sending positive vibes to all of my buddies, and all of the people on fat secret who are fighting the bulge with me, and especially any of you who are feeling discouraged right now. Dust yourself off and keep at it! We can do this! ((((Hugs)))))

Oh oh oh, I saw this and had to comment, because I have done the same thing since the weekend. I wonder sometimes if making committments to better health, joining online groups and signing up for challenges has the opposite effect on me than what I had desired and anticipated. I binged so badly over the last few days I couldn't bring myself to weigh in here - because I am up 5 pounds. I know it's not permanent (I didn't eat an extra 17,500 calories), but I wonder why I sabotage myself. Everything I ate was totally with free will (I wasn't force-fed). Yesterday and today were "on course" for me eating-wise, so there's that. Congratulations for having the cojones to post this - you are WAY braver than me, and I totally respect you for that.

I am sorry about your gain this week, but I am so glad that I am not alone! I gain 3.5 this week so I totally get it. I have had some bad food in my house since Saturday in preparation for our Super Bowl party and drank an entire bottle of wine and two beers all by myself... needless to say, I was drunk, but man think of all those calories I wasted by drinking that much! I have not given into the soda temptation, I poured some and smelled and it dumped it out, it just didn't seem like it would be that tasty, but it has also been 3 weeks since I last drank soda! I have been drinking a ton of water and being home bored out of my mind all day, did not help... I snacked a little but didn't get much of a workout. I was planning on doing my walk tonight, but the roads are too icy, so I am gonna settle for my Wii Fit. I am glad to see that you are not giving up! I'm not either! The amount of work that you did before this gain is something you should be proud of... you will reach your goal weight... it will happen!!!!

To have gained four pounds of fat you would have had to consume 14,000 extra calories of KitKats, reeses, Hershey kisses, French fries or other food. I bet most of it is water weight gain. When I eat sugars or a lot of carbs, I tend to retain water. Flush it out by drinking a lot of water daily (at least half your body weight in ounces). It will be off before you know it. The fact that you aren't drinking soda is excellent progress. You've got this!

I just started back on here. I need to get a new weight added. I will have to go and find a scale I dont own one. But I will, and I am gonna try my best to be better to myself. Good or bad im me, I too know there will be bad weeks. And I will strive to help others so I too can have help. You can do it .. we all can. Have a blessed week and know your not alone.

Hugs!!! You're right we can do this. I love your positive energy, and im soaking it up. Were all naughty sometimes but were also human and we can laugh at ourselves too. As long as we keep having faith in ourselves we'll be fine, We're all going to feel sooo good when we reach our goals too. Thanks for being positive. We all need that. :)

Every day is a chance to get back on that horse. As one FS user said a while ago, last night/week is better than EVERY night/week. By re affirming your goals, you also motivate us to keep pushing! =)

((Hugs)) First and foremost, stop calling it a diet. For me the word 'diet' came with the guaranteed fail lol. This is your lifestyle and if you want three pounds of chocolate then hot damn you can, but it will slow your loss. I use that thought process whenever I want something calorie dense.. "is it worth the small setback?". No lie, sometimes it is and thats okay. Permission to live... granted :-). A four pound gain? Not four pounds of fat, I would bet my soul on that. High carb intake requires high water retention for storage and digestion. Those four pounds should come off easily enough with a couple carb controlled days and activity. Trust me, ive had plenty of gains from carb binges. Keep your chin up and keep doing what youve been doing. Every day is another opportunity for progress.
