Babe53's Journal, 31 January 2014

I'm struggling with eating all of my 12-15g of Foundation veggies every day. That's a lot of veggies (for me). I try to have one large salad per day; and use the cooked broccoli/cauliflower to get to the 12-15g range.

I also see I'm not taking in as many calories as I should be. I record everything and when I see I haven't even reached 1,000 calories, I rummage through the kitchen to see what I can have to bring that up a bit. I'm reading more and more, people not eating enough will stall their weight loss. I don't want that.

I'll just keep on doing what I can. Work hard at it each day like I am doing, because afterall, my weight loss so far is pretty darned good I think.

Down another 2 today. :):):)

That's great! I struggle with getting in the veggies too. Heck I'm struggling with meat too because I am tired of eating the same stuff. I went in the grocery store the other day, glanced over at the meat counter and became nauseated! Mind you, there were T-bones in that meat case! lol....So I don't know what's going on. I have to find something that interest me besides sugar free jello. Thinking I may just have chicken broth for lunch just to switch it up a bit. Good luck to you! Sounds to me like you are doing great! :)

My new favorite fruit combo is pomegranates and blueberries mixed together, low cal, high fiber and health benefits out the wazoo. Have you tried roasted asparugus with minced garlic, or roasted cauliflower steaks? I am learning to eat veggies that I would have never touched before. I watched Ina Garten roast winter veggies (butternut squash, parsnips, carrots, etc), she served the roasted veggies and then used chicken stock to turn the leftovers into soup. She added the stock to the veggies, used a mixer to cream them in the pot and walla.........soup. (she also added a little heavy cream......might have to find a lower cal substitute).

Thanks you for your responses! :):):) BeckyM - I struggle with it all; only because I'm never hungry. I was sort of this morning so that wasn't too bad but after that, forget it. I feel nauseated at times as well. By chance are u new to Atkins? I should check your profile and stuff. I'm hoping this feeling goes away for good SOON! I was good for a couple of days but now today,I'm back to not feeling up to eating. I have to laugh; when you mention sugar free jello - I'm running low on them things LOL But actually I was considering getting some nice steaks!! Mmmmmm now, if THAT doesn't get my appetite going, something is SERIOUSLY wrong. :P Cgblake - I'm doing Induction at the moment, so fruits are out at the moment. I'll have to look into that soup you mention though. Sounds like that might be good! Thanks for your support. It does mean a lot. Signed, The Rock Star :D xxx

Babe53...I feel like you do quite often. (I'm only about a week ahead of you on the diet, I see.) I'm often nauseated by the sight or thought of eating meat, finding it hard to eat enough calories and getting the right amount of carbs from the veggies. Some days I have to force myself to eat; others I have a fairly healthy appetite. Guess we just have to keep plugging away! Keep up the good work!
