flaxseed's Journal, 13 April 2009

As I expected (and deserve) I am up today. I can't believe I was so stupid as to let something throw me off course. I'm still chewing it over in my mind even now mithering as to whether other people see me as I saw myself. My other side says "who cares, you know what sort of person you are and if they judge you only on what they see then they are pretty shallow" Then I think but the world does judge you on what they see, and off I go again.

Message to self: Come on girl get your act together - put it behind you and move onward and upward (or should that be downward) If you haven't learned how to handle this in 60 odd years, heaven help you!

flaxseed: I like the photo you put up. At 60 odd years you look darn good! I know a little what you are thinking though. With Mom's death we are going through photos and I saw one when I was about 30 and looking quite nice. I have tried to prepare myself for when my weight loss does get back down where I was at 30 to the difference in how I will appear and I can't quite visualize or accept it. I turned the big 60 in February and try to accept the wrinkles and the changes to my face and body that will never look 30 again. However, I do look better than I did a few months ago and my hubby tells me I look darn good to him. I know I feel better losing weight rather than staying the same or gaining. You have done fantastic with your weight loss and change in lifestyle since you started. You have just a little ways to go and can be so proud of your accomplishments. So what if you splurged and gave in...we all do. Now you can go forward and finish what you have started. Throughout our lives we will have splurges and gain a little. The important thing at that time is to allow ourselves a bit and then dig in and keep the weight off or the ongoing down. Your wedding is coming up quickly and before you know it you will be the beautiful mother of the bride enjoying her very special day! Thank you also for your warm comments about my Mom's death. I will give myself hugs! God bless! caroldiff

Hang in there, it is not how many times we fall, but how we pick ourselves back up. Just get back on the horse. Onward and downward!

Consider it just a bump in the road, so keep moving forward towards your goal. On the other hand, it's sometimes good to have days like that to test whether you are truly dedicated. Temptation hits us at every level, even when we're very close to achieving our goal. You've already accomplished so much and overcame so many obstacles, so you already know what being victorious is about. Treat this situation as a victory in the making. I wish you well buddy! By the way...you look gorgeous at 60!

You have lost a person, over a hundred pounds and only 17 left to go. What an accomplishment for you. Don't let photos get you down, as Amark said we are three dimensional, Photos never do us justice. Keep up the good work.
