I had a bad cold for about 10 days, I’m over it now and started exercising again yesterday.
I’ve been taking a class on Coursera about weight loss and management, how our body’s internal control systems work so hard to sabotage our weight loss by increasing hunger hormones while decreasing metabolism and satiety signals, and how junk food companies use science to combine fat, sugar and salt to boost dopamine so we become addicted and eat more. The most surprising bit was that people who lost weight must exercise six days per week to keep the weight off. That’s a big commitment, but the alternative is to gain the weight back... So basically the long term formula is to eat whole foods, mostly plant based with whole grains, turkey and skinless chicken, drink lots of water and exercise. And if you do indulge in a treat, try only to choose fat OR carbs, not a combination of both or it may be a gateway drug.
181.2 lb Lost so far: 42.2 lb.    Still to go: 0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
