Losing weight and following the low-carb as I have always done. However, this time I only have trace amounts of ketones…whereas before I went off the diet for 3 days…there were very high amounts. Not sure how to get back into that level again. Anyone have any ideas?

It's been years since I have attempted to do that but when I did I was on 25 carbs or less; ideally almost zero daily. It would take 3 or 4 days maybe more to kick into that run off of ketones but sticking to that did make it happen.

Thanks Ashjes. I am under 20 total per day. I'm not even doing 'net' carbs. I am being patient! Have a great holiday :)

Hey, Ali. OMG you are so close to goal!!! You're doing so great! I'm with ash on this... It's been so long since I've done Atkins (over ten years ago). I bet you just have to wait it out--could it be because you are so close to goal? The only thing I can think of, when I did Atkins, I had a lot more meat than you're having. Most of my meals were all or mostly meat. Anyway, I doubt that helps any, but who knows? BEST WISHES!!! You're rocking the weight loss! You'll get there.

Thanks for the continued support Rob. You're right…I'm a little worried because Ireally don't know how much more I can lose. I was 10 pounds lighter at my best weight…almost 15 years ago. So, with the 'aging thing' ladies go through…I'm not sure how it will work. I usually eat more red meat, but for some reason…haven't had a steak in about 3 weeks! And I just love salmon! Mahi is for tomorrow. I'm trying to use what I have in the frig/freezer to allow for Thanksgiving leftovers :) I'm waiting it out (ketosis) for sure…and already making my plans for Thanksgiving dinner. What I will eat and how enjoyable I can make it without 'breaking the carb bank'. Happy Thanksgiving to you…enjoy the feast!

Alicat, here's my thing on it and you've already said it. Due to us women aging our body's develop a new mindset on what it thinks is a healthy weight. So your body may just be telling you this is where I want to be. The only way to break that stubborn streak, imo, would be to do some version of a fast - meat and eggs only for a week; or a fat fast for a 3-4 days; or complete fast for a day.
