That makes sense to me. I've found lately that if I eat sashimi, that I will gain 3 pounds one day, then lose it a day or two later. Awful.

These sound like mild food allergies to me... that's usually how I've heard they work... your body gets inflammation as a result of the allergy--forcing you to retain water. After the food has been processed out of your system (a day or two later), the weight magically goes away. You might consider trying to zero in on what could be causing that specifically. Ali: maybe for you it is something like corn syrup or something. Ash, maybe it is a certain kind of shellfish (shellfish is a common allergy food). Anyway, I'm no doctor, and probably more than a little insane, so don't take my word for it. :D But, something to consider.

Rob. I think that you are right. I noticed the weight gain after sashimi several weeks ago as well as problems eating pizza one night. My glucose wasn't affected but other systems were. My primary is referring me for food allergy testing. Thanks for the help.

Hey, no problem. Good luck narrowing in on the ones that are causing you issues! Let me know what the allergist finds.
