I've got three days left on phase one and I may be losing weight but gosh, it seems like its coming off so slow! I just remember every other time I was on this phase and it seemed like I got in the 130's so much faster... but maybe that's cuz I gained a lot more at this point before I started the diet? I dunno! A part of me is thinking I might as well just skip on to phase two, but if I did that I think I'd feel like a failure... I dunno. I think I'm gonna go out to a nice dinner in the city with Brian, so if I did that I know there's no way I'm staying on phase one for that. I mean I'm not getting dressed up and going to Palomino in SF to eat a salad and water! So anyway... what do you guys think? Is this slow weight loss normal? I thought I usually lost like 8-13 pounds on this phase... what am I doing wrong? I eat brocolli, eggs, salad, chicken, and tri-tip usually... I don't get it. Oh and lots of water or tea. HELP!!!
142.2 lb Lost so far: 24.8 lb.    Still to go: 12.2 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Slow loss is normal on Phase 1 in part because some of us find it hard to stick to it to the letter (strongly advised). Also, try to be aware of your total calorie intake because, while Agatston says that it is not necessary to count calories, he stresses that calories are important. In the end, no matter what the diet, it boils down to calories in minus calories out. You are doing a good job though, better to lose steadily than to lose too fast. Keep up the good work!

He's right. The big weight loss comes from the low calories. It's really not so hard to go out to dinner on this diet, even on Phase 1. Just get a regular meal with vegetables- like grilled chicken or fish. Or personally if it was me, I would be doing shrimp or lobster (if it's not too out of budget). You don't have to have a salad.

I haven't been on here for awhile so I didn't realize you'd separated from your husband. Hope the transition to your own apartment is going well. I've never done SB so I don't have any advice, but good luck!
