I don't know what to say :( If I had been cheating I could understand. I have even been drinking lots and lots of water (and peeing lots) for the past two days. It still goes up :( Soon I will be back at my starting weight after all my hard work and NO cheating. Makes me want to scream or cry or something :(

Oh, Squiggs, I am so sorry that you are having such a hard time right now. I have been there for months now too, and it is sooo frustrating. Hugs, sis!

Hey hon, are you checking for hidden carbs in your foods? Are you ensuring proper weight/measurements, etc? Also, many medications you could be taking could have hidden carbs. I'm sure with a little checking and a little tweaking you'll figure something out.

Squiggs, are you recording everything that you eat? No little bites here or there? I am rechecking every little thing tht I am doing....and have gone back to induction. Restart for the new year! Hopefully it will work.

Squiggs, I was just looking at your food journal. When I hit 230 lbs, the RDI set for 1900 and I noticed yours at 213 is set for 2000. Is it possible you should reset your RDI? I also noticed that all of your entries have a asterisk after them, meaning, "some of what I ate." Is this because you just don't hit the button, "all of what I ate," or because it isn't all you ate? Hugs. Just trying to help. Frankly, I don't know how you're doing as well as you're doing with all the after shocks. I would be frantic.

Thanks Leanne. Yup I am picking the earthquakes and major lack of sleep as the main culprits. I have had 4 good nights sleep in over 4 months. Most nights I toss and turn and wonder when the quakes will strike and wake me up LOL. Thanks for the hugs!

We will get through this Stef! There is no going back for either of us. We can do it! Hugs back!

No meds, and I weigh everything LOL. Can't trust my eyeballs to tell me the truth... I hardly ever remember to take my multivits....

Oh, sleep deprivation will definately do it, Squiggs!

Yup I am recording it all. Every last bite.... I could take my rdi down somewhat. Will be hard cause when I get hungry I get weird but I will just have to learn to cope with it. Never had that no hunger thing that some atkins people talk about LOL. Johanne - yeah I tend to forget to hit that button. re the aftershocks, I spend a lot of my day frantic, and worn out LOL. Yesterday my bird was yelling and I went to see why and then rattle rattle rattle for ages! Our house keeps getting more damaged, but we are blessed in that it is holding up well, some have had their houses destroyed. But I guess I am frantic a lot of the day LOL.

Yup Stef I am wondering. I have about 6 or 7 antianxiety pills left but I try only to take those when I just can't cope any more (usually after a very frightening aftershock or cluster of them). I think that is the only time I have slept well now when I think about it. I have tried sleep meds before and they never worked, natural ones make me even more awake LOL. Exercise doesn't help. I guess I just have to learn to live with it until the aftershocks stop - which we are being told could be another year away. Yikes!

Aren't animals amazing? Mine, including the birds are very attuned like that as well. Would you like to move in with me until the aftershocks stop? Although, Indiana had a 4.2 magnitude quake last week and Missouri, where I am, is sitting on a plate that caused one of the worst quakes in U.S. history. Then there are the tornadoes. I guess, no matter where we live, we aren't safe unless the good Lord wants to keep us that way. I'll be thinking of you often.

Hmm looking back on the few days I did lose, my calories were lower but so were my total carbs - closer to 20. I have dropped my rdi to 1700 but unsure how I will cope with the hunger. Maybe I should concentrate on keeping total carbs low and see what that does first before I go making myself loopy with hunger LOL What do you think? Any words of wisdom from the total carbers? LOL

What is your fat %? The more fat in your diet, the more satiated you will be.
05 Jan 11 by member: kmartin
Squiggs, it may be that you are one of those who, like me, can't do net carbs, and needs to keep close to 20 total carbs in order to lose. As for dealing with the hunger....do like Keli says, add more fats, ie. olive oil, mayo, butter, and heavy cream.

Looked back even further to before the quakes and my I was doing okay with net carbs so that blows that theory out of the water. I could drive myself crazy trying to work all this out. Oh wait I am already there! LOL Fat % is usually between 60 - 70%. I MUST eat every 3 hours or so right up to bedtime, but at 1700 that will make my meals crazy small. Gosh I hate trying to work this out LOL. I feel a tiny bit jealous seeing some other people's weight drop so steadily....

I usually have to eat every few hours so I make them small meals. I will have my meat around noon then a salad or other side dish around 2 or 3 and then my dinner around 6ish and a snack around 8 or 9. Because of this WOE I cannot eat a lot at any given time. Who said you have to keep cals at 1700? You might be surprised to find how higher cals promotes more losses. Just a suggestion.

Hello new buddy. Squiggs I don't do the atkins route so I can't advise you on that side of things. BUT I do understand how you feel. I've literally been working my arse off....no loss. NONE. I understand you gain muscle, etc. But at some point with diet change...why isn't any coming off. I do what my docs say, take meds as directed....still no loss. Maybe you need to switch up the diet?
