I am so fed up with this crap!!!
243.0 lb Lost so far: 22.0 lb.    Still to go: 54.0 lb.    Diet followed 100%.

Diet Calendar Entry for 18 December 2010:
1754 kcal Fat: 118.40g | Prot: 133.23g | Carb: 40.10g.   Breakfast: whipping cream, pork sausages, butter, cheddar chesse. Lunch: ceasar dressing, kraft cheddar cheese meduim, chicken breast, atkins carmel nut bar. Dinner: diet coke, beef steak, feta cheese. Snacks/Other: onion, tomatoes, snow peas, fresh express, cucumber, peppers, green onions. more...

Might I suggest getting the opinion of Collette, the Atkins nutritionist? Just hop on over to the Atkins site and see if she'll take a look. I know she's done this for others, esp when they seem to be doing everything right but not achieving the results they'd like. You've done a great job in logging your foods, so I would think she'd have enough to look at to give you an opinion. But.....13 pounds in less than 8 weeks is still a nice loss. While you may see others on this site who are dropping bigger amounts of weight, upon closer look you'll see a number of them are doing so on "watercress and radishes!" That's my phrase for foods that no one can possibly continue with as an ongoing WOE. Those individuals eating 200-600 calories per day are losing muscle and will eventually have great difficulty eating anything that approaches a reasonable meal and will probably gain the weight right back when they do so. You are doing great with having foods that you could easily continue to eat for the rest of your life....and that's what Atkins is supposed to be!

Are you keeping to 12-15g of your net carb from veggies? How about salt content? Salt could be making your retain water. I also found that if you use prepackaged shredded cheese, there is potato starch in it and that could be something your body is sensitive to. Hidden carbs. Also, I found a vitamin I take as carbs. Are you eating enough? I am still confused on this one too. I think Sandy has a good suggestion about ask Collette. Hang in there, you have had some great loss!!

Sometimes the Atkins bars can cause a stall of sorts.... I did similar to you, was losing weight happily then super stress arrived in the form of a major damaging earthquake LOL. Have you recently had any large amounts of stress?

Ha silly me how no idea ppl could comment here.. thanks so much.. I am a very active member of the atkins site and trust me ask alot of questions lol.... Yes I ate enough.... I don't have the carb info on the vitamin I take, so I will look into that. I had 2 teeny cheats... I mean small, earlier in the week.... but geeezzz as you can see with my weight history, it sucks... I am trying to cut out the cheese and the atkins bars, but feeling very deprived with all the holiday stuff.. so this helps.... I am NOT giving up.... thanks again...

I will bet you money you aren't eating enough you can't be for sure because you aren't logging your activity to see how many calories you're burning... check out the Atkins forum on "Why Stalls Happen" it's by Whyguy and he helped me through a stall at 297 lbs. He's helping me through a set point right now. You have to log your activities, all of them even driving... then subtract 20-30% of those calories and that number is the number of calories you should be consuming. I have to eat a minimum of 2100 calories a day or don't lose and I'm 248 so very close to you in weight. So fill out the calculator and figure out what your RDI is and start logging your activity ALL of it!

Good advice everyone - (and yes Barb is going thru some stress now. She is getting married soon - yippie!!) Barb, dear - gotta cut out those cheats hon. Did you know that the "cheats" (carbs/sugars) you eat take four days to leave your body once you've eaten them? Four days! You are knocked out of ketosis for that whole time - it just is not worth it. No more cheats, girlfriend - k? Believing in YOU! Honk Honk!

Thanks girls... I am not cheating and NO movement on the evil scale....I have a big daycare party today and I am NOT putting one thing other than veggies in my mouth.... scale still stuck.. I have my tom, just started today, but.. last month it didn;t effect me soo... I will keep track of my workouts here.... I can't see me eating another drop of food.... but... I need something to make me lose this weight, I am so dedicated to Atkins but man oh man... this is killing me.

You keep hanging in there hon. You can do this - you are already proving that to yourself, Superstar! Are you taking measurements Barb? That was such an encouragment to me - when the scale was "silent" I decided to take my measurements and WOW! Huge loss inch-wise. And, that's what we want anywhay, isn't it? I had been buidling up more muscle (and muscle weighs more than fat...so, the measurements really showed the fat-loss better than the scale.) And...what a co-inky-dinky... Aunt Flo came to visit me today, too! Who shall we send her to next? <<< devilish grin >>> (hee hee hee)
