pumakitten's Journal, 17 July 2013

Here it is, another day in the quest to lose those pesky pounds, and to get into a smaller size pair of pants and shirt!!!

One Size at a time!!! :)

I decided to weigh myself today...kind of an unofficial weigh in. I have to see my Doc every friday, and if I don't lose any weight, they take me off of the phentermine. Weigh in at the Dr on Fridays will be the "official" weight for the week.

I never did eat a lot during the day, I ate more and had cravings at night, I never gorged on anything, but I did tend to eat large portions. I have been honest with myself about this. I am approaching this diet the way I did when I was diagnosed with emphysema.

I haven't had a cigarette in 5 1/2 years. I know I can never smoke again, as that will just aggravate my lungs and create more problems than its worth!

Quitting smoking and dieting do have one thing in common.......mindset.
You have to get your head right in order to accomplish your goal. I am determined to lose this weight. I WILL reach my goal.

When I lose this weight, and I will, I will be able to breathe better, walk better, get dressed easier, be able to tie my shoes easier!! There is a plethora of things I'll be able to do that I can't do right now!!!

I am using this journal to not only record my journey, I hope that I can inspire and motivate someone else who is on this same quest! This is a journey that is best done with friends, or acquaintances, it is not best done alone!!

You need support from your peers, and family. You definitely need the support of your significant other if you have one. I have loads of support from my husband. He is my anchor, and my rock, and my port in a storm!!!

He understands that I must lose this weight in order to have a healthier quality of life, and he keeps me honest with myself and keeps me on track!!

If I falter, and trip up, and screw up, I get back up, dust myself off, and get back to it!! There is no use to beating yourself up if you mess up. Put it behind you, where it belongs, and learn from it and try not to do it again!

You have to love yourself for who you are inside, not what you look like on the outside. The outside is subject to change, from weather, age, health. Your inside is what you are and always will be.
LOVE YOURSELF!!!

I hope I helped someone today...

Keep up the good work on this rollercoaster ride of weight loss!!! I'll be here rooting you on!!
