THE LIST

Did I try this past week to eat better? Yes. . . but I still managed to eat fast food 3 or 4 times yet I lost 2.5 lbs. That tells you just how bad I've been eating. Not good.

My goal for this week? Get on the treadmill and NO FAST FOOD.

It's 7:24AM and I am supposed to be going downstairs to get on the treadmill. I actually TOLD my husband I would work out on the treadmill this morning!! Why? Well, a couple of reasons: 1. I thought if I put it out there then I would have to do it and 2. The List. . . see below.

Late last week I asked my husband to give me a list of ways I could be a better wife to him. It's part of a study group I'll be starting tomorrow. He took his time putting it together, thoughtfully adding a page and a half of things I do that make him feel good/important.

Then, on the last third of the second page of the list he added things I could do to be a better wife: There were only three items on this part of the list. There were at least 10-15 items on the "positive: side.

Top of the Ways to Improve List? #1 Lose weight & excercise (and look the way I looked in a picture of us on my 40th birthday - I was 135ish pounds. This March I'll be 44.) The other two were to have all the rooms in the house better organized without clutter around and to give him my attention when he's talking to me - to not be distracted by the computer or other people.

I asked for the list and he was honest enough to give it to me. I can't be mad. But it is hurtful knowing he feels I can be a better wife by losing weight and exercising.

So, it's not 7:32 am. I'm cold. I want to stay snuggled in bed. He wants a wife who will exercise and make an effort to look the way she did just 4 years ago. A wife who can slip into those darn cute size four fashion jeans. . . .
166.5 lb Lost so far: 0 lb.    Still to go: 49.5 lb.    Diet followed poorly.
