I did not have any intention on starting a water fast. I have been trying to keep my carbs under 50 grams a day. I seem to be pretty stable with my weight but I had no intentionality with respect to dropping pounds. I started strict keto, under 20 grams of carbs, on Wednesday, May 20th, 2020. On Friday night, I started researching different ways to keep my blood sugar stabilized and I saw that intermittent fasting was an option. I decided to go with an 18 hour fast with a 6 hour feeding window. I did not intend to exceed why fasting window but I ended up sleeping through my eating time. When I woke up I was about 20 hours into a fast. I decided to try and make it to 24 hours. I wasn't hungry and I didn't have any issues not eating so it was pretty easy to do.

By the time 24 hours rolled around, it was 8:30 p.m. and I decided just to go to sleep instead of eating. I slept in late again, and the next thing I knew I was 36 hours into the fast. I still wasn't experiencing any hunger and I had a pretty good amount of energy. I wasn't feeling moody, I wasn't feeling light headed or dizzy. I just chilled out for the first few days of my water fast. As time progressed, I realize that this was not particularly difficult so I played around with the idea of continuing. I started researching how to do a water fast and found that I needed to make sure that I supported my electrolytes, this was something that I already knew from my years of following a ketogenic diet. I grabbed the ingredients to do snake juice and kept moving forward. Each morning that I wake up and I see the reduction in weight, inspires me to continue. I wish I could say that this was hard but it's surprisingly easy. I am really amazed that I've been able to do it because I haven't had anything to distract me. I'm just left alone to my own devices and that is typically when I eat.

I'm not sure how long I will do this. I don't want to set any unrealistic expectations and then feel like a failure, so I guess I'll play it by ear. However, something inside of me is burning and I really want to stick this out. If I can do this, I can finally see serious changes. I've never been able to fast. I've tried on numerous occasions and I've never even made it 24 hours.

My secret goal is to do this for 90 days. And 90 days I could completely transform my body. By the time Corona quarantine is done being the person.
