Oh Yeah!!! I lost about 12 pounds last week!!! Go Atkins!!! I had some tough moments that's for sure. Last Friday we had a wedding shower at work and had a cake I had to pass up. Then Saturday and Sunday the kids were eating some Doritos that were tempting me BIG TIME. I even dreamed about potato chips last night. I woke up checking my teeth to see if I really ate them. LOL I have the worst temptations in my sleep!

I stayed busy all weekend because for me the weekends are the hardest time. Went fishing Saturday and worked my butt off in the chicken coop Sunday. Now that it's the work week I shouldn't have much trouble. I'll be back in my routine. I need to start drinking more water. How did everyone else do?

Thanks! I always drop FAST my first week. This week will probably be between 4 - 7 pounds depending on how strict I am. Yesterday I was in Heavy Ketosis so I had a very small helping of purple hull peas. I know they are a bit high in carbs but it's not the worst thing I could have ate.

Okay so how are you doing on your carb numbers? I am very excited for you and would like to do just as well. I have a lot in common with you and am interested in keeping up with you. I have battled weight for many years and have a family history of being on the large side of life. So any help you could send my way would be great! I could also be a motivator for you if you would like!

I'm not new to Atkins. I've done it before so I don't even think about counting my carbs. I kindof know what I can and can't eat and get in the routine of eating low carb. Some days I do go a bit over and I do eat things that aren't necessarily Induction appropriate. For example: Mission Carb Balance tortilla shells. I had tacos twice last week and made a pizza with one also. So I had 3 low carb tortillas last week. I try to only have beans every now and then... they tend to slow my weight loss down and the sugar free candy does too. Not the hard candy so much as the sugar free turtles or mint patties etc. I try to really keep my artificial sweetners down to 3 or less a day. So I have my coffee with sweet n low in the morning then at lunch I have great value sugar free lemonade in my water and then coffee before bed with sweet n low. I drink water the rest of the time very, very rarely do I treat myself with a diet A&W Root beer. Today for lunch I had tuna salad with no bread. It seems like after the first week I stop being hungry. Good Luck! I will help you any way I can. I will need support too. I almost caved on the cake Friday but I pushed thru. So can you!

I am not new to Atkins either. I have done the ups and downs many times. I am now working a little more natural side of it. I believe I am actually gluten intolerant. After going without it for a while it gives me terrible stomach aches. I have also been a diet coke drinker and have had terrible migraines so I am also cutting out artificial sweeteners, in other words no pop which is my biggest addiction!! Today is going surprisingly well, but we will see how the rest of the week goes! It will be difficult but I know I can do it! My goal right now is 20 lbs by my 31 birthday (a little less than a month).

Oh wow, frustratedmom we are almost the same age. We do have alot in common. I will be 31 on July 1st. That's a good idea to give yourself a goal for your birthday. I think I will do that and make a little calendar to count it down. Yes I LOVE my coca cola! It's my one true addiction... that and sweet tea. I really can't stand diet though. The A&W Root Beer is the only one I can drink.

amanda, you're my daughter's age, she'll be 31 on June 24, my other girl will be 24 on July 30...I restarted induction last week, down 7 1/2 obs, but haven't been on the scale yet today. Embarassed to say, but I really don't know what Ketosis is, altho I've been on Atkins for quite a while. All I do know is that it works - but the last few months I've been stuck (have to admit that I was fudging where the carbs were concerned tho...but not gaining :) - ) would love to have a 20lb loss before my girl's wedding on July 20...hopefully get to somewhere around 190. Haven't seen that number since - oh wow - don't remember when. I get the la Banderita low carb tortillas - less expensive than Mission, and just as good, don't know if they're distributed in your area tho. I get them at WalMart or Safeway.

I will have to look for those tortilla's kmkjmomma. Yeah the mission are so expensive. $5 for a pack just about! You can do this! Ketosis is just where your body runs out of carbs/sugar for it's energy and starts burning your own fat to fuel it. Ketones are excreted in your sweat, urine, breath etc. I'm sure there's more to it but that's my quick short version. You know when I hit a stall I try to eat something a little different, a new veggie or maybe even up my carbs a bit then drop them. Try to confuse the metabolism into kick starting again. I have a wedding this Saturday and I am the maid of honor. Ugh... not really looking forward to seeing my 250 lb self in that dress but it's my own fault. Should have changed sooner. Good Luck!! Go back to the basics. You'll start losing again.

I like the Misson tortillas, cause they're soft and chewy lol, but the La Banderita ones are really good too, they're a wheat, but they're not dry or grainy like some other ones I've tried. Have fun at the wedding, and don't worry, you'll be beautiful!!
