So I have to say that grocery shopping can be somewhat frustrating and scary. I am in phase 2 on S/B and I look at products such as kashi (which kashi is ok?) - pita bread (which I only saw honey wheat or white?) What to Buy?? I stare and read labels unsure of what to get, without wasting money or packing on lbs. I am pretty south beach knowledgeable. Ive read the books front to back at least 3 times. you know..."What was that I can eat..or can I have that?". I actually ended up buying some flatout wraps (they go with oprahs the best of life diet). Has anyone seen these. Well I'm crossing my fingers. I know its silly but I wish that every single product had a symbol. Yes you can eat this no stay away..it looks like its good but watch out!! I am noticing south beach approved on some products.. Hopefully it will soon be on most things.

I eat the Kashi Heart to Heart....alot of the other ones are really high in sugar. There are also the actual South Beach Cereals...but I cant get them very often around here. There are actually whole wheat pitas too...Ill have to see what the brand is that I buy....but if I cant find them I do whole wheat tortillas. I tend to spend a ton of time reading labels now....way more than I used too...usually a trip to the store turns out being a whole day affair ! LOL

hi there! do you have a trader joes nearby? It seems easier to find SB permitted foods than at a typical grocery store where they "push" the other food on ya. good luck -D -D

when I read labels for foods I want to have I compare protien, fiber, and sugars mainly. I found some whole wheat tortillas that have more calories but they also have 21 g of fiber! and less sugar than the other ones. I guess you should just experiment carefully and find out what works for you :)
