amanda123's Journal, 29 September 2010

Wow! I must have had alot of water weight from TOM or something because the weight is coming down quickly. Which is good because I gained almost 10 lbs in a week. Mmmmm good strong coffee this morning is hitting the spot. I seriously need some good sleep. We have an owl that lives at our house. I thought it was really neat at first and I wish I could see it one night. I don't think I have ever seen an owl in real life before. Anyways I think it is a screech owl because that is what it does... Eeeeek! Eeeeek! Eeeek! ALL THE FRIKIN NIGHT LONG! It wasn't a big deal at first because he never got so close to the house that I could hear him from inside but now its decided to light on the pine tree by my bedroom window and screech all night long. Why do they even scream like that? I am going to google it. Anyways I was pretty good yesterday. I bought some new jeans last night in a size 18 and I have to say, I look Good! They fit just right and hug my curves like the should. I have such a hard time finding jeans to fit me like they should. I think they make all jeans for girls with big bellies and tiny legs. Well I have big legs and a small waist and these fit just right. I love that I can wear an 18 now! Don't you just love fall? This weekend is the fair, the deer festival, and my kids have a fall festival at their school Friday night. Next weekend is my company picnic which is going to be huge! Then we have halloween right around the corner, then before you know it Thanksgiving & Christmas!!! I can't wait!!!

Amanda, are there laws in your area that forbid shooting the owl? I don't know how you do it, I would've gone nuts already. Kudos to you for your rapid loss yet again. And for the pants. Don't forget to send in some new pics. I'm sure you are looking great!

I do need to do another pic. The last one I think I was 240 or so. LOL! I am pretty sure owls are protected, but even if they werent I couldnt shoot it. The first time I heard it I was outside on the phone with my sister and it scared me to death. Now I am used to it so it doesnt scare me but I wish it wouldn't scream so close to my window. I found a website and I am trying to see what kind of owl it is but I can't tell. All I know is that it lets out these hair raising screeches. He (I have no idea why I think its a male) screams the most from dusk to midnight and then from like 4 to 7. Thats when I hear him the most anyways. I never hear any hooo hooo's just Eeeeeks! I think my dogs are afraid of it too because they have started sleeping under the cars.

Well maybe there is a way you can scare it off. Like a scarecrow or something. Do they have scareowls? haha, that'd be funny.

Ha Ha Ha! I have no idea what would scare an owl. I don't know if they have many natural predators.

Alright, Im curious so I googled it. One of the recommendations is: "You can buy a plastic owl, as owls are territorial, this is supposed to deter other owls, though playing a recording of a much larger type of owl hooting can work too." Not sure if more noise would be beneficial to you but the plastic owl sounds like it might work.

good job on finding jeans, i have about given up, I have big legs too, didnt used to have a stomach but now I do, but most of the jeans have that low waist that the young kids wear, I need mine to come up to my waist. I see my daughters bootie hanging out of hers when she bends over, LOL she usually wears long shirts and it covers up but sometimes I get a buttcrack view, definitly no one, including me, wants to see my buttcrack hanging out

LOL! Feeling Fatter! That is so true! No one needs to or wants to see my crack and whoever thinks that is sexy I just don't get it? I saw a girl once who was squatted down by her tire at a gas station and half her butt was showing and she was wearing a thong that came up to where it was supposed to so it was showing bad. I guess I can get what she was trying to pull off, but it did not look sexy to me. Now I don't want the mom jeans with an elastic waist or anything but if they hit just below the belly button that is perfect. I like the Wal-Mart Just My Size Bootcut jeans the best. It makes a huge difference on how you look when your clothes fit the way they should. I look like I've lost more weight just because my clothes fit right. I have to go shopping for smaller winter clothes. I had to wear some ls shirts this week and they were 22 - 26 and all way too big.

Speaking about cracks, we were are the race track one day and the women sitting in front of us was wearing a pair of those jeans and a sports bra. To make a long story short, we watched and ant crawl right down the back of her pants.lol She never jumped around or anything. I don't even think she knew it went down there. We didn't see it come back out either. Let your imagination wonder a bit.LOL

Amanda, another great brand for us more curvy "real" women are the Gloria Vanderbuilts. Theirs sit just above the hip and are quite flattering.

How funny LauPug1! I am surprised it didn't sting her!!! LOL! A little black wasp looking thing got into my bra once and I was definately jumping around. My MIL called it a sweat bee? Whatever it was it hurt when it stung! So where do you find Gloria Vanderbuilts? JC Penny? Oh LOL! I just thought of something funny I saw this weekend. I should have taken a picture of it. JC Penny was selling some old clothes racks and some of their old manequins. Well we were walking by and I elbowed my husband and asked "do you see something wrong with that manequin?" We were both snickering because they combined a male manequin bottom with a female manequin top so it was a transvestite manequin. I thought it was hilareous!

Love the mannequin story! Great job finding the new jeans! I'd definitely go with the plastic owl trick. But where the heck do you find a plastic owl? Maybe around Halloween but now?

OMG, that is funny about the mannequin. you are doing great, and congrats on the jeans. Sorry that I can't help you, but all I wear are Levis, when I wear them, which isn't often! lol I am a skirt and top or dress type of girl!
