fightingobesity's Journal, 08 April 2013

I haven't been around in quite some time. It's a shame.

Hubby and I have recently bought a BEAST of an elliptical. It is amazing. I officially love NordicTrack, lol! We're both focusing on eating right, exercising and overall just getting more active.

I'll be 30 in October and don't want to enter into my 30's overweight and miserable. And, as a goal I'd like to lose a significant amount of weight so that Hubby and I can get some professional pictures taken for our 10th wedding anniversary next March. :)

Also, we're still working on starting a family. We're up to 9 years of struggling with infertility. We've done numerous rounds of fertility treatments, but they did not work for/with my body. Now, I'm ready to take some time away from leaning on fertility treatments and finally get healthy. I believe that, for me, weight loss will result in pregnancy.

I am excited to have a plan and a way to execute that plan. Looking forward to being more involved around here!

Hooray for you! I'm pretty much in the same boat as you. I have not resorted to fertility treatments yet because they can be so pricey. My doctor really thinks my weight is what's keeping us from conceiving after 4 years of trying and taking medications. I'll be 30 next year and I'd really like to get healthy so I can have a baby. It sounds like you have lots of goals to keep you motivated and an elliptical will really take away any excuses to not go to the gym. I've just become reactive on here again, so I'll check in with your progress! :) Good luck!

Thanks Rebby! :) I'm glad you're making a comeback too. I've spent way too much time away and I had stopped focusing on my healthier self, lol. As far as fertility treatments, we have only went the Clomid route. IUI and IVF are way beyond our monetary means. Once I loose weight and if we're still not able to get pregnant I would like to try Femara, but it's quite a bit more expensive than Clomid. However, I hope we do not need to use that route. :) I am feeling very motivated and have a lot to keep me walking a straight line. But, I'm sure I might sway from time to time...can't be perfect all the time and gotta live it up sometimes, hehe. :)
