makparis's Journal, 30 August 2010

Oh this past week has been CRAZY! School started for both me and my son and it's been overwhelming. Unlike semester, I'm going full-time this round and I wasn't quite prepared for all the work. But, I'm so happy. I really do love to learn things and I've enjoyed almost every assignment. My son is having more difficulty. He doesn't like school, he's been sick and he's having trouble getting back to going to bed/getting up early schedule.

It's been a while since I journaled but I have been weighing in. The last few weeks have been harsh. I was at one point in time up to 557.4. Last week I had come down to 551, but I have gained again this week. I'm concerned that school is not going to be good for my weight loss because I spend so much time sitting around reading/studying. This week will again be about getting used to the new schedule, but I'm hoping by next week I can start adding in exercise times.

I haven't actually made it to TOPS yet. I decided it was best to wait until after I'd started school and saw how my schedule was going to be. So, like regular exercise, I'm hoping to add in TOPS starting next week.

Well, I have to read a short story and write a response as well as write a 2-3 page opening scene for another story before 4 pm. I will let you all go and I appreciate all your help and support.

7 Things I'm Grateful for:
1. The School Year - Because it does bring with it routine and schedule. It may take time to figure out but it's better than the unclear summer.
2. Tea - I don't drink coffee, I just can't stand the taste, but at least with tea I can get a little caffeine to boost me as I'm wrapping up an assignment.
3. Hot Showers in the Morning - This is my morning cup of coffee. Oh yeah!
4. Cooler Weather - It's nice to be able to open up my doors and windows and let the breeze blow through.
5. Computer Calendars - Because you can set them up with alarms.
6. Trail's Best Peppered Jerky - Something my son and I both enjoy chewing on while watching a movie. Who needs popcorn?
7. Hope - "Love bears all things, hopes all things, believes all things, endures all things." 1 Corinthians 13:7. God is love and God has given me all those things and right now I am so happy to be filled with hope.

Trust in God steadily, hope unswervingly, love extravagantly.

About study, give yourself a time to study, get up each hr and stretch and drink some water, then restart. I know I'm stressed today about my exams but I should have completed them in May and do to a clerical error, I was not allowed to sit them. To long to explain and then today they changed the sittings of the exams, I was prepared for the 2 I was to do this week now I'm under pressure to revise, Ah well Its good for our kids to see us study as it encourages them to study hard as well, Good luck with yr review.
