The Blue Box's Journal, 10 February 2013

I had a surprise outing last night! My fiancé was out with a friend from work (same couple we went out with last week) and I stayed home to clean the house. He said he was going to be home for lunch so I waited from him to come home to eat... Then he called me at 3:00pm and said his friend and his family invited us to cookout over his place and he’d be by around 6:00pm to pick me up. So I'm like sure sounds good, because I haven't eaten lunch yet I'll make up for it with the calories I'm going to eat at dinner.

Normally Saturday is my rest day, but I mustered up the willpower to make it through all 3 levels of Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred to try and offset the calories I was going to consume at dinner.

When he finally got around to bringing me over his friend's house they (12 other people were there!) decided it was too dark to cookout so we ended up going to a Mexican Restaurant whose portions were very generous... But I was good! I drank water and paced myself with a couple of chips & salsa until my vegetarian dinner came out which was a bean burrito, chalupa, and a small cheese quesadilla. All of which were very tasty!

After eating we went back to their house to hang out and they made homemade blueberry cobbler topped with vanilla ice cream. To. Die. For. My fiancé and I said we would share a bowl, but his friend's sister insisted that there was plenty to go around and she gave us each our own serving.

On the way home I gave my fiancé a look and stated, “We really shouldn't eat out like this all the time.”
He replied “Aww, come on when do we ever do this?”
“Last weekend,” I answered, “this better not become a habit!
“Oh yeah...” He smiled and said “Oh well, such is the price of being social!”

I thought I was going to end up gaining, but it looks like kicking my butt to perform all 3 levels of the 30 Day Shred was worth it! :D

Dieting is all very good... But you have to have a social life too. Though a few days notice does help you offset the calories involved.

It sounds like dessert was too die for! I love blueberries too! Also way to go on completing the 30 day shred! What did you think of it? When I went to eat with my Dad last night I tried to eat a few things I hadn't been and yuck either they can't make mashed potatoes and gravy or I just couldn't eat them. I also tried their carrots but they were like trying to eat a spoonful of sugar with a carrot.

Compared to Insanity and ChaLean extreme the 30 Day Shred was nothing! I'm just kidding. ;P It worked out some muscles I forgot I even had. So it was a nice change!
