swoodsong's Journal, 30 July 2019

Well... we got off track on the fasting thing a bit. My husband decided that he would do better if he had a bit of something so he wouldn't be so hungry. He added shirataki noodles (0 calories) and almond milk smoothies (30 calories per 8 oz) during his fast.

It. Did. Not. Work.

The addition of any kind of calories seems to have changed the fast - which is bearable - to a really low calorie diet. He was hungry all the time.

So, this fast we are back to just water/tea/koolaid and it is much easier and we're not hungry. I crave, and the last two nights I dreamt I ate, but definitely bearable.

So, I'm on the fifth day of the fast and my weight is at its lowest ever. I'm excited about that. I swam about a mile in laps yesterday - we need to do more working out during the fast to keep muscle and maximize weight loss. Today I'm out on the farm, tractor mowing, watering, cleaning up, feeding chickens, etc. I'm a bit worn down, but getting things done.

Still, I'm pleased that this is a weight loss strategy that puts me in control. By the end of this week's fast I expect to be down to 264, that expectation keeps me on the straight and narrow.

Now, our biggest challenge is to only get 2,000 calories per day on our eating week.
265.4 lb Lost so far: 24.6 lb.    Still to go: 100.4 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Diet Calendar Entry for 30 July 2019:
6 kcal Fat: 0.25g | Prot: 0.25g | Carb: 0.25g.   Breakfast: Water Fasting. more...
losing 0.1 lb a week

Yeah that is interesting. But it is what Dr. Fung explains in his book. The body will seek energy on different paths if you fully fast but if you eat it changes. Congrats on getting to a nice low number!!!!
