amanda123's Journal, 14 July 2010

Well the weight is really coming off quickly again. I can't believe I weigh 236.5. Onederland is getting closer and closer. 220 is where I quit last time after losing 49 pounds. Well I am up to 51.5 lbs lost now and I am not quitting. My mother in law weighs 235 and my step mom 230. I am finally catching them! I am so excited about getting to a normal size. The other day my husband said "wow - your stomach is getting so flat!" It makes you feel good when people notice. Oh my dad didn't get his test done. He got up there, drank the chalky stuff, they had the iv in and last minute they asked him if he had diabetes. He said borderline and that he takes medication for it. Well his medicine could cause a severe reaction with the dye they put in your IV so he has to go back tomorrow. I hate not knowing but then again I am afraid to know too. He says there is nothing wrong with him because he feels fine but my aunt felt fine too. They found her cancer on a routine check up and she died within a year. My parents had a really bad divorce and I don't feel like I am as close with my dad as we should be. I have only got to spend time with him during the past year or so since we moved close. I want him to be around for a long time so we can get to know each other again.
236.5 lb Lost so far: 51.5 lb.    Still to go: 81.5 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Thanks everyone - I have been so stressed/sad that it's making me sick to my stomach. I have only gotten about 4 to 5 hours of sleep for the past 3 nights in a row and even then it's not good sleep. Oh and I have cried 2 days in a row. I rarely cry but it's been a tough week. What's bad is that its not just my dad's health that has me down but the other situation I talked about yesterday. I am trying to just get over it but when I think about it I get sick and angry not to mention insecure.

I can totally relate to the other issue and your feelings about that...my best advice is to discuss it with your husband until you understand why he took so long to tell you and make peace with him over it. THEN, keep on doing goodness for yourself food/exercise wise and hey, fake it till you make it a little. What I mean by that is, do your hair and makeup, or put on some nice perfume, polish the toe-nails or whatever makes you feel pretty!! Seriously it does work wonders to "work it"!! :-D
