amanda123's Journal, 01 July 2010

The scale is on the downward slide again. :D So happy!!! But... I don't think I would have been so upset if I hadn't lost this morning. After 2 weeks of much slower weight loss than I was experiencing at first I finally have accepted that this is not going to happen overnight and I can't let the numbers on the scale each morning affect how I feel about myself and whether or not I have a good day. Even if the numbers hadn't budged I am doing this for life so it doesnt matter. I don't have to be in such a hurry to get there. I know I am eating healthier, feeling great, and a healthy good looking body is sure to follow - even if it takes it's own sweet time sometimes.

I have nearly skipped a pants size. I was wearing 24's. Yesterday I finally got sick of pulling my jeans up and decided I would just go ahead and buy me a pair of jeans. So I went to Wal-Mart (no since in buying expensive ones if your just going to shrink out of them) and I tried on a size 22 jeans. They fit very comfortably - in fact so comfortably that I tried on a 20 and Eureka! they would go on! They wre too tight for me to fell comfortable in so I went with the 22 but they won't last long before I will be buying that 20! All they had were Short length jeans. Does our Wal-Mart think all big girls are short or what? Anyways, I am feeling quite cute today wearing my new smaller jeans and my new sandals.

Kudos Amanda! Look at that weight loss chart - it's almost vertical. Your post has actually put a smile on my face this morning. As I was reading, it dawned on me just how much you have grown. You are right - none of us woke up and were instantly fat. It took many of us years and years to get to where we are. As hard as it came be at times, there is no way it will be off in a flash. But I think that the longer it takes to come off, the more we will appreciate it and are less likely to put it back on. Thank you. Oh, and by the way, it's sunflower seed day!

Thanks everyone! I really believe it is all about making your mind up that you are going to do this and just doing it. Are some days hard? Yes but I'm not backing down - I've got this bull by the horns & I'm not letting go. ;)

Ride 'em, cowgirl. I have mine by the horns also, and although at times it is hard to "steer" (hehehehe), I will eventually wrestle it to the ground and hog tie it!! I have to tell you a funny. I got a pm from my baby sis on here yesterday. She joined back in April but hasn't done anything on here since the end of April, but I figured she would come back. Each in his/her own time, right? Anyway, I get this pm, out of the blue: "I WILL NEVER EAT A STUPID SUNFLOWER SEED AGAIN!", to which I, of course, replied, "Why?". I am thinking she nearly choked to death or something terrible like that. This is her answer: "15.4 Carbs in 1/2 CUP! Sheesh. Here I was doing great (except maybe the two tomatoes I had) but still. If I'm going to consume 15.4 carbs, it WON'T be on sunflower seeds!" She thought the 1/2 cup she had measured out, including the shells would be her undoing. Once I expalined that she had probaably only eaten a TBSP of kernels, she was much better. She, too, is a David Sunflower Seed afficianado, and eats them everyday at work. Sorry, Keli, but on this one I am with Amanda....David all the way!

Two votes for David, 3 actually when you count Stef's sister. :D Maybe you need to try some more David seeds Keli. LOL! Oh we have a little farm store close to me called "At Woods" and they sell some sunflower seeds there that are really big seeds. I need to get some more when I go back that way. They weren't too salty.

Sorry. You'll never persuade me. And Stef, tell your sister that Frito Lay's are 3 net carbs for an entire bag.
