Well I finally bought my own scale! Yay!! I have been weighing at work with my shoes & clothes on so if I show a big drop it is because I can finally weigh in the mornings without clothes. I have done fairly well this weekend. I have gotten in more veggies than usual and have been drinking alot of water. I bought my kids a blow up pool and it took me forever with an air pump to blow it up... if that's not cardio then I don't know what is. I am thinking of moving into OWL but I'm not sure. I just would like to add a few more foods to my plan. I am making some pinto beans in the slow cooker today and they have 22 carbs and 14 fibers in them. That is only 8 net carbs so I may have one serving. I'm going to pull out my book first and see if they are allowed. I hope everyone is having a great low-carb weekend! We are smoking ribs and brisket tomorrow and I think I will make broccoli & cheese and deviled eggs to go along with it. :)

Yummy! I'm coming to your house for dinner. lol. Hey, sweetie, I think you can have the pintos as long as you really, really watch your portions. My problem is, I don't just want a little dab of beans. I want a big plate full. Cornbread on the side would be nice, too. OK, I'll stop. You are doing sooooo well! I'm experimenting, too. I adore my emerald's 100 calorie packs of almonds. I know I can have 1 pack and only 1 pack at a time. That's better for me than measuring out a few from a big jar. I know me. I'd eat half the jar.

Congrats on your scale! We look forward to the weight loss. Sometimes I think about not weighing everyday because I think that I am going to gain, but I still weigh. I had to many pinto beans with the Weight Watchers but they sound good!! I think that I will make some deviled eggs now that you mention them! :o)

Alright Amanda. A new scale, and did you use it to see what the difference is yet? I would be curious to know hopw much you lost by weighing at home, in the am, without clothes and shoes. You are doing so fantastic, and should be proud of yourself. And blowing up the kids pool with a hand pump sounds like a true cardio workout to me! lol

CTLS - at work on my scales in the morning fully clothed is 263. In the morning on my scales at home - naked I am 260. I really haven't lost 7 lbs this week - I wish. It's probably like 3 or 4. Those beans took longer than I thought and I have already eaten grilled chicken & green beans so I may just sample when they are done.

If you are still on induction Amanda and wanting to move to owl you need to add things in an order..I think legumes are down on the list, nuts being the first rung of the ladder and it goes from there. Legumes are very high carb and to go from induction to that may not be so great. If you havent got the book to check go to atkins.com and read it there. I don't want you to be disappointed so best check it out. I love beans and havent added them yet...cant do just one bean..lol.

I have an Atkins recipe book that has the basics on the first couple of pages.... I am eating one small bowl. If I notice that they hurt me I won't have them again till later...... ooh they are so good. It's better for my diet than cheating with a kit kat bar anyways.

I am in OWL now and it is nice to have some variety and I have been losing well so far but I have only added 5 carbs back. Good job on the weight loss!!!

Amanda, you are braver than I. I wouldn't be willing to take the chance of messing up my progress for a bowl of beans, but then I have done this before and know how hard it is for me to get back on if I deviate from my WOE. Hopefully it doesn't do that to you. As for the kit kat bar, the beans would have the same effect on me as the chocolate. I would be out of ketosis so fast! LOL You have done so well so far, I just hate to see what happened last time you did Atkins, when you splurged at Easter, happen again. Hope your holiday weekend was awesome!

ctlss, the beans didnt seem to hurt me. I went from large ketosis to moderate but I only had a very small bowl. I went right back to my induction safe foods afterwards. I think I needed to do that just to show myself that I can deviate just a bit and get right back on it - and I did!! YAY!!!
